The Animation Experience at Conservation Station
Did you know you can learn to draw an animated character at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? And it’s free! Head to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and take a 25-minute animation class. A Disney animator gives step-by-step instructions on how to draw a popular Disney character. The characters change throughout the day so if there’s a specific one you want to draw, you can attend that specific class. You can take your artwork home with you as a free keepsake.
Wilderness Explorers
Did you know there is a free scavenger hunt you can do at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? You can become a Wilderness Explorer just like Russell from the Disney-Pixar animated film, Up! Pick up a Wilderness Explorer handbook and head through the park for some fun, nature-themed challenges. As you complete these self-guided activities you’ll earn over 25 badges. Once you receive all of your badges, you’ll get the right to echo the Wilderness Explorer call: Caw! Caw! Roar!
Animal Education
As you explore the animal enclosures at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, talk with the cast members! Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, and the Maharajah Jungle Trek are all places where you’ll find cast members who are willing, and excited, to share their knowledge of the animals with you. You’ll also find plaques detailing information about animals you can see. These are particularly useful when an animal encounter doesn’t have a Cast Member nearby.
Affection Section
Do you or your family members love interacting with animals? At the Affection Section in Rafiki’s Planet Watch you can encounter a variety of adorable animals! You can pet goats, llamas, pigs, sheep, and other unique, domesticated animals. It’s a super fun, and free, activity at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
