Meet these Cast Members making an impact on Disney’s Plants & Animals in Honor of International Women’s Day
At Walt Disney World, both the tiniest plants and the grandest elephants share something special: they’re all tended to with exceptional care by Disney cast members, with a significant amount of those cast members being women! More than 1,000 cast members of Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment team includes a diverse group of women in roles such as veterinarians, animal keepers, endocrinologists, marine biologists, and plant scientists. Their incredible knowledge and dedication make Disney a leader in conservation efforts, earning esteemed recognition from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Dee is an Animal Care Manager for some of the marine life at The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot. Dee is dedicated to ensuring the well-being and happiness of the animals in her care. This commitment involves spending quality time nurturing these animals and gaining the trust of many different types of marine life. A prime example of this dedication is the training of a newborn eagle ray to feed on its own, which was quite a significant achievement for the young ray, and for Dee and her team! Deeply passionate about conservation, Dee’s dedication stems from the influence of mentors who came before her, and who share her love of animals and taking great care of them! Incredible work, Dee!

Disney Cast Member Laura, who is a plant scientist, passionately communicates the significance of agriculture daily, simultaneously sparking curiosity and inspiration in the minds of young visitors. Throughout her career at Disney, she has mentored and guided 438 interns, sharing her knowledge and passion for plant science. Very impressive, Laura!
