DinoLand U.S.A. Bids Farewell to TriceraTop Spin and Chester & Hester’s

Today marks a somber day for fans of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as several beloved areas of DinoLand U.S.A. officially close their doors. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama, and Fossil Fun Games have spun their last rides, fired their last lasers, and handed out their last dinosaur prizes.

While the end is near for a significant portion of the land, some beloved experiences will remain open for the time being. DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, Dino-Bite Snacks, Trilo-Bites, and Restaurantosaurus will continue to operate, though a closing date for these attractions has not yet been announced. Disney has confirmed that DINOSAUR will remain open throughout 2025, giving guests ample opportunity to experience this thrilling ride before its eventual transformation into an Indiana Jones adventure.

The Boneyard, a beloved interactive play area, is expected to remain open until sometime in 2026, providing a final haven for young paleontologists to dig for bones and explore.

The closures pave the way for the highly anticipated Tropical Americas expansion, which will bring a vibrant new world to Animal Kingdom. This exciting project will include an “Encanto” ride, a reimagined DINOSAUR attraction, and a stunning wood-carved carousel featuring Disney creatures.
