Deciding which Disney World Theme Parks to visit each day are based on lots of different variables such as; past park attendance, special events, holidays, and Extra Magic Hours to name a few. When trying to plan a trip, I always like to try and visit the park with the least amount of crowds for the day.
All four theme parks are fairly busy on the weekends. Why? Because not only do you get out of state guests visiting the parks but Florida residents tend to take weekend day trips as well.
There are plenty of theories pertaining park crowd levels. Most guests begin their vacations on the weekend, therefore Monday, Wednesday and Friday are usually the busiest Magic Kingdom Days. Most guests want to see the castle to begin and end their vacation.
There is also speculations that guests like to visit Disney World Parks in the order of which they opened. First, Magic Kingdom, then Epcot, following with Hollywood Studios and ending with Animal Kingdom. Of course, this doesn’t always hold true as park hours- extra magic or special events- could change this!
Disney came up with the plan Extra Magic Hours to try and break up crowds more evenly among the four parks. When a park has Extra Magic Hours, it tends to be the busiest. Those without park hopper choose to visit the park with EMH to get extended park time. The best day to visit that specific park would be the day after the park has evening Extra Magic Hours.
Based on theories, online calendars & touring plans, and research, I find these are some of the best weekdays to visit each park.
- Magic Kingdom- Tuesdays & Thursdays
- Epcot- Wednesday & Thursday
- Hollywood Studios- Wednesday & Friday
- Animal Kingdom-Monday, Tuesday, & Friday
Remember Disney crowd levels vary day to day and can always change due to holidays or special events.
