New Years Eve

Walt Disney World Resort somehow gets even more magical during the holidays, it also can get very busy. There is a very special feel to the parks and resorts at Christmas, but what about ringing in the new year at the most magical place on Earth? I’ve spent New Year’s Eve at Disney World for the past 4 years, and it is so much fun! Here are some tips for having a great New Year at Disney.

Plan Ahead

Guests will need to purchase tickets and make Disney Park Pass Reservations before they sell out (and it can easily happen). Just being a guest at a Disney Resort Hotel or even having a dining reservation inside a park DOES NOT guarantee park entry. New Year’s Eve has consistently been one of the busiest park days of the year, so be sure to plan ahead.

Arrive EARLY

Just as we’ve seen on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve traffic to Disney can be crazy and stretch out for miles! If you are staying at a Disney Resort, you are already one step ahead, and if you are not- leave as early as possible! Yes, this will make for a VERY long day, so you will want to plan accordingly. Bring a sweatshirt or jacket and take it easy in the park. This year, Disney will have three parks open until midnight- Disney’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios will all be celebrating with nighttime shows. Celebrating when the clock strikes 12 will be worth the long day!

Dress Comfortably

Make sure when choosing that perfect New Year’s Eve outfit, you take into consideration you could very likely be spending 18 hours in it! Bring clothes for multiple different temperatures, as Florida is notorious for being blazing hot during the day and chilly in the evening. You can always utilize the lockers for rent and store your jackets there.

Skip the Parks and Head to Disney Springs or a Resort Instead

If crowded parks packed full of people or an 18 hour day aren’t your things, it’s ok! You can still have a magical New Year at Disney. Head to Disney Springs or snag a reservation at a Disney Resort for a late dinner. There is plenty of Disney magic outside of the parks.

There is really nothing quite like bringing in the New Year at Disney!
