More changes are coming to Walt Disney World very soon!
Since the parks reopened back in July last year, we have been seeing lots of changes in order to keep everyone safe and return to the magic in a way everyone was protected. But as the world keeps moving forward and we start to see the light at the end of tunnel, we also start to see more positive changes coming to Disney parks.

For example, guests are now allow to take off their masks when taking pictures, which is a big deal for a lot of guests. The social distance between guests in line has also being reduced and capacity has been increased.
So now that more and more people are fully vaccinated, Disney might be making more changes like increasing capacity even more and even going maskless.
CAPACITY
Recently, Disney CEO Bob Chapek released a statement regarding park capacity:
“In terms of the parks, and when we’re to sort of be able to raise our capacity limits, we’ve actually already started that. Given the guidance that just came today, from the CDC, and earlier guidance that we got from the governor of Florida, we’ve already started to increase our capacities. So i think you’re going to see an immediate increase in the number of folks that we’re able to admit into our parks through our reservation systems that we recently implemented. So we’re very, very excited about that.”
He didn’t specify a percentage of increase but i guess we will see more park passes being available soon.
FACE MASKS
The CDC announced that they will ease indoor mask wearing guidelines for fully vaccinated people, however a face mask is still required in crowded indoor settings like buses, planes, hospitals, etc.
In Florida, Governor DeSantis signed an executive order on May 3rd ending all COVID-19 restrictions in the state. So that could mean guests will be able to go maskless at the parks again very soon.
Over in California, Governor Newsom said the state will end the mask mandate for most circumstances on June 15, 2021. However, Disneyland and other theme parks are private businesses and will still have their own guidelines and rules.
OTHER CHANGES
At Walt Disney World, physical distancing measures will be reduce across many areas except in all dining locations. Other changes include temperature screenings being phased out for guests and cast members.
So there you go, those are the changes coming to Disney World in the next few weeks. Keep checking back for more updates!
