What Closed at Disney World and Disneyland in 2023
Much has changed at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts in the past year! Both feature new and exciting offerings but also had multiple attractions permanently close. Here is a compilation of what closed at Disney World and Disneyland in 2023.

Walt Disney World Closures
- Splash Mountain – Closed January 23, 2023. The attraction is being re-themed and transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
- Disney Enchantment – Closed April 2, 2023. The nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom debuted for the resort’s 50th anniversary celebration. It closed in 2023 and was replaced by the return of Happily Ever After.
- Harmonious – Closed April 2, 2023. This nighttime spectacular at Epcot debuted for the 50th anniversary celebration. It also closed in 2023 but was replaced by the return of Epcot Forever.
- Trail’s End Restaurant – The restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort did not close permanently but it has switched from a table-service to a quick-service restaurant. The table-service option closed on April 17, 2023.
- Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – This Star Wars-themed interactive experience closed on September 30, 2023. It was only open for a year and a half before closing permanently.
Disneyland Closures
- French Market Restaurant – This restaurant in New Orleans Square closed on February 17, 2023. It was transformed into Tiana’s Palace which opened on September 7, 2023.
- Uva Bar & Cafe and Catal – These dining locations in Downtown Disney closed on April 10, 2023.
- Splash Mountain – This classic attraction closed on May 30, 2023. Just like the version at Disney World, it is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
- Avengers Super Store – This Avengers-themed shop closed in Disney California Adventure on September 14, 2023.
- Beast’s Library in Animation Academy – Located in Disney California Adventure, this attraction closed on December 10, 2023. The space will be replaced by Disney’s Imagination Campus.
