What is Disney World’s Policy on Hurricane Cancellations and Refunds?
As Florida heads into the 2024 hurricane season, many Disney World guests will need to know the policy for hurricane cancellations and refunds.

In 2006 Disney introduced a Hurricane Cancellation Policy to give guests peace of mind in the event of severe weather impacting their vacation plans. The policy only applies when the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane warning and is valid within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date. Guests can call to reschedule or cancel their reservation, make the changes online, or contact their travel agent. No cancellation fees will be imposed.
The Standard Disney World Cancellation Policy available throughout the year is up to 5 days prior to arrival without penalty, regardless of any weather impacts.
If you have products and/or services provided by third-party suppliers included in your vacation—such as airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, or travel insurance companies—you will still be responsible for any non-refundable payments, as well as cancellation or change fees assessed by those suppliers. Disney’s Hurricane Cancellation Policy does not apply to certain special events or dining experiences.
If your reservation had a special rate or discount applied, you might not get the same rate or discount on a new, rescheduled reservation. All money you paid towards your room, park tickets, dining plans, and other Disney products and services will be applied toward your new reservation.
