Disney World Resort does offer a variety of hotel rooms for five or more guests. As anyone with a family of three or more kids knows, it can be tricky to find hotel rooms that work for larger families. Disney World has done a great job of expanding their offerings of rooms that sleep five and sometimes more. From standard hotel rooms that now include a child-size pull-down bed to expansive multi-bedroom suites, Disney World has offerings that will fit nearly every vacation style and budget. Let’s check out the Disney World resort room options that sleep five or more.
Hotel Rooms with Child-Size Pull-Down Bed
Two Moderate category resorts at Disney World now have rooms available with child-size pull-down beds. These beds conveniently fold up into a narrow cabinet against the wall when not in use and accommodate a child up to about age 12. A separate room category is available to ensure that you reserve a room with one of these special beds, as not all rooms on the properties have them available. These rooms are referred to as 5th Sleeper and come in a variety of views and are available at Port Orleans Riverside and the Caribbean Beach Resort. These rooms sleep families of five but are not recommended unless you have at least one child 12 or under in your party.
Hotel Rooms with Twin Size Day Bed
A number of Deluxe category resort rooms have day beds available. These beds are a full-size couch for use during the day that then flips over to reveal a full-length twin bed. These beds are comfortable enough to sleep an adult and these rooms will all accommodate a group of five. Deluxe Resort hotel rooms are all larger in size than the Moderate resort categories so these rooms will give a larger family some additional space to accommodate the larger party.
Standard hotel rooms with a couch/day bed are available at the following resorts:
- Contemporary
- Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Polynesian
- Beach Club
- Yacht Club
- Boardwalk Inn
Family Suites
Available at two Value resorts, All Star Music and Art of Animation, Family Suites are a nice option that will accommodate a family up to six people. Family Suites include two full bathrooms and a small kitchenette. The beds available in an All Star Music Family Suite are one queen bed, one twin-size sleeper chair, one twin-size sleeper ottoman, and a double-size sleeper sofa.
At the Art of Animation, guests may choose from suites themed after the films Finding Nemo, Cars or the Lion King. The suites here include one queen-size bed, one double-size convertible Table Bed, and one double-size sleeper sofa.
Deluxe Villa Resorts
For those traveling with a large group and a good-sized budget, the Deluxe Villa resorts offer a wide variety of options that can sleep five or more people. 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom villas are available at Deluxe Villa resorts, exact availability depends on the selected resort. These can sleep up to 12 people and offer amenities such as full kitchens.
The Deluxe Villa Resort locations include:
- Riviera
- Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek at the Wilderness Lodge
- Boardwalk Villas
- Beach Club
- Yacht Club
- Saratoga Springs
- Villas at the Grand Floridian
- Jambo House and Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge
