Yesterday was July 4th and our nation celebrated Independence Day. However, any day can be patriotic at Walt Disney World Resort! Walt Disney loved his country and the parks that bear his name feature experiences and attractions that are very patriotic! So even if you aren’t visiting the parks on a day like the 4th of July, you can still show some love for America! Here are some ways to have a patriotic day at Disney!
The Hall of Presidents- The Hall of Presidents is an attraction located in Liberty Square at Disney’s Magic Kingdom park. Liberty Square itself is a nod to our nation’s history, and the attraction is built to look like Philadelphia’s Independence Hall. This attraction combines film and animatronics and is a great way to take a 20-minute break from the Florida heat. The attraction is currently closed for refurbishment while the new president is added.
Daily Flag Retreat Ceremony- We are so happy that the daily flag retreat ceremony has returned to Magic Kingdom park! the special ceremony was brought back on July 1. The ceremony takes place every day at 5 pm and a veteran is chosen to be the guest of honor. The flag is lowered while patriotic music plays and The Pledge of Allegiance is recited. It is a very special ceremony to watch.
The American Adventure- With all of the amazing countries represented at EPCOT’s World Showcase, be sure not to forget about America! When visiting the America Pavilion be sure to check out the feature attraction. The American Adventure is an audio-animatronics stage show of American history. The attraction boasts 35 animatronics and runs for just about a half-hour.
The Voices of Liberty- The Voices of Liberty are an 8 member acapella singing group found at The American Adventure in EPCOT. The group even wears colonial-era costumes and sings traditional patriotic songs! Listening to them has become an absolute must-do for me every trip!
There are so many ways Disney incorporates a love of country into the parks. Any day can be a patriotic day if you are visiting Disney!
