Every Disney Live Action Movie In The Works Right Now!

In the last few years, we have been getting remakes of our favorite childhood stories and the tradition continues with the most recent one being The Little Mermaid, that’s why we want to share with you every Disney Live Action Movie in the works right now and even some sequels to already known ones.

SNOW WHITE

A new remake of the original princess is coming on March 22, 2024 starting Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot as Snow White and the Evil Queen. This is not the first live action we have gotten inspired in Snow White in general but we are excited to see this version from Disney!

LILO & STITCH

One of the most beloved Disney movies is joining the live action family, we recently got news that Maia Kealoha has been cast as Lilo! Other actors confirmed are Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen and Courtney B. Vance. This live action remake will be available as a Disney+ original movie.

MOANA

We recently found out a live action remake of Moana is in the works with Dwayne Johnson as Maui! The movie is set to be release in 2026. We can’t wait!

HERCULES

Anthony and Joe Russo are producing a new version of the 1997 animated classic describing it as something that’s in the vein of the original and inspired by it.

THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME

This live action remake has been in production since 2019. Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz who wrote the music for the 1996 classic are set to return for the live action movie produced by Josh Gad, David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman.

THE SWORD IN THE STONE

Another live action movie arriving to Disney+ is The Sword in the Stone, this one was announced in 2015, re-entering development in 2018 with no update ever since. We do know Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is suppose to direct the scrip from Bryan Cogman. Hopefully we can hear more details about this movie soon.

BAMBI

Back in 2020 it was announced Bambi will be joining the live action movies with CG-animated animals like in The Jungle Book and The Lion King and it was going to be written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsay Beer.

ROBIN HOOD

A live action/ CG hybrid inspired in the 1973 film was announced in 2020 to join the Disney+ streaming service. Carlos Lopez Estrada is set to direct the new movie written by Kari Granlund and produced by Justin Springer.

THE ARISTOCATS

Back in March, Ahmir “Questlove” Thomson signed on to direct the live action remake of The Aristocats! The script was written by Will Gluck and Keith Bunin and will be narrated by Thomson. Sounds great!
