Walt Disney World is the most magical place on earth but for those traveling with family or friends with food allergies, eating out through the duration of a vacation can bring some additional stress. Rest assured that Disney has you covered! From nut, dairy or gluten allergies to Kosher diets and even serious metabolic concerns, Disney can accommodate almost every concern. I frequently travel to Disney destinations with a family member with food allergies and we are always impressed with the care in which her allergies are treated at every dining encounter. Read on to learn more about how Disney addresses food allergies and dietary restrictions at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Table Service Restaurants
One fact that Disney Addicts all know is that Walt Disney World is home to some impeccable food. If you have a dietary restriction or food allergy, you will most certainly not be left out of all the fun and great tastes. When dining at a table service restaurant, you will be able to note any food allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of making the reservation.

When you arrive for your meal, your allergy will be noted and you can expect to receive an allergen guide menu when you are seated. To be safe, be sure to repeat your allergy concerns upon your arrival at the restaurant. If you have additional questions, you make ask to speak with the chef who can walk through your options with you in more detail. At a buffet restaurant, the chef will be available to walk you through the food offerings at the buffet itself to make sure you are clear on which selections are appropriate.
Quick Service Restaurants
Allergen guides are also available upon request at the many quick service locations throughout Walt Disney World including the resorts. You may ask to speak to a chef or manager at these locations to have your specific needs reviewed. They will do everything they can to accommodate your dietary needs and ensure that everyone has choices that are safe and delicious.
Snacking Around the World
Disney World isn’t short on snacks either, and you certainly don’t have to miss out on treats if you have a food allergy or dietary restrictions. There are great options available at the snack carts and the bakeries as well.
Other Dietary Requirements
If you are visiting Disney with more complex dietary needs, they can accommodate you as well.
Kosher meals can be accommodated at table-service and select quick-service restaurants and should be requested 24 hours in advance by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. Also, be sure to indicate any dietary requirements upon arrival at your dining location. Please know there may be a higher wait time due to the special care we take to provide a kosher meal.
Halal meals can be accommodated at select restaurants and should be requested at least 24 hours in advance. A halal meal can be requested when making your reservation at a table service restaurant by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. For all other restaurants, email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. Please know there may be a higher wait time due to the special care we take to provide a halal meal. Halal meat options will vary at all locations and in some cases, only vegetarian or specific seafood meals will be available.
If you have more than four food allergies, or if your party consists of multiple members with different allergies, Disney World requests that you email them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com after booking dining arrangements for their visit and at least 14 days prior to your arrival
If you are more comfortable bringing in your own food, you are welcome to bring food into any of the Disney Parks. Just note that cast members are unable to assist in any heating or other preparation of outside food items.
Final Notes
In general, while Disney does everything that they can to keep guests safe when dining with food allergies and restrictions, they take steps to prevent cross-contact, but Disney World does not have separate allergy-friendly kitchens and is unable to guarantee that a menu item is completely free of allergens.
Please also note that our allergy-friendly offerings are reliant on supplier ingredient labels, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the contents of each food item. Allergen advisory statements (e.g., “ may contain”) are not regulated and therefore not taken into consideration when developing allergy-friendly meals. It is ultimately up to your discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs.
