Q: When will the Halloween Decorations Go Up at Disney World?
This Labor Day weekend, we may be getting out the BBQ’s one last time, loading up the camper or heading out to the beach to make the most of the last vestiges of Summer. However, the first week in September also means one thing for Disney-lovers: the Halloween decorations have officially gone up at Disney World!
Halloween-inspired merchandise starting creeping into parks before the end of August. The first 2016 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party made it’s inaugural run on on September 2nd. While Cast Member’s on Disney’s graveyard shift have been working through the night to give the parks a harvest-themed transformation.
For those wanting to witness how Disney decorates for the Season, make your first port of call the Magic Kingdom. The moment you enter you’ll notice the Fall-themed brown and orange bunting adoring the train station.
The street lamps are decorated with playful jack-o-lanterns and harvest wreaths.
Garden courtyards play host to some frightfully delightful pumpkin scarecrows.
Even the shops on Main Street U.S.A get a Halloween-themed makeover.
And there certainly isn’t any shortage of haystacks and beautiful Autumn vistas!
This is just a small sampling of what you’ll see at the parks during the next two months. And while most of the magic and mayhem of Halloween is reserved for those who purchased separate tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (running on select evenings throughout September and October), daytime guests still get to enjoy all of the sights above and may even get a chance to experience a flavor of the Autumn festivities. Many of the Main Street U.S.A shops including the Main Street Bakery and Main Street Confectionery have Halloween-themed treats on offer.
Can I find any Halloween-theming outside of the Magic Kingdom? Though Magic Kingdom is definitely the place to be for Autumn decorations, touches of the season can be found throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Parts of Epcot and Animal Kingdom will be adorned for the Halloween. Club Villain will be running on select nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Even the resorts get in on the fun with decorations and events like pumpkin decorating, dance parties and Halloween-themed Movies Under the Stars!
So what are you waiting for? Pop on over to Walt Disney World this Autumn and enjoy a nice dose of seasonal theming that is rivaled only by Disney’s Christmas takeover (which will start the beginning of November).
