Halloween Magic at Disney World Magic Kingdom in 2020!

Even though Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has been canceled and it’s looking pretty likely that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party will be canceled as well, Disney World still has a way to get visitors into the Holiday spirit and that is with all the AMAZING holiday decor they put out. From Sept 15, 2020, to Oct 31, 2020, it’s going to be all out FALL FUN at the Magic Kingdom!

Main Street is always filled with adorable Mickey-shaped pumpkins, ghosts, wreaths, and fall colors that will present plenty of photo-ops for you and your family.

Characters

My guess is that character viewings will continue with most characters in their “Halloween Costumes” for the year which again provides good photos. While you cannot go right up to them and take a picture with them during Coronavirus it still brings a bit more Halloween fun to the Walt Disney World parks.

Costumes

It’s also a big deal that Disney is allowing adults to wear costumes in the park for the first time in like, um, ever, during park hours. Previously in order to ensure the magic for young children adults couldn’t rock their own costumes EXCEPT at the Halloween Party or Disney Villians After Hours events. However, face coverings will still be required, and obviously, if you’re showing just a bit TOO much skin or anything not “Disney Family Friendly” you’re likely to get the boot. Costumes can only be worn during the Sept 15 – Oct 31, 2020 time period at this point!

Children are (as always) allowed to wear their favorite character costumes. However, I would suggest packing a backpack to carry these costumes and a change of clothes as my children EVERY SINGLE TIME, got hot or bored, or said “it’s too scratchy” a billion times and we ended up taking the costumes off. You’ll want a change of clothes as Orlando is often still hot and humid all the way into the Halloween season.

Shopping

It’s a villain-lovers paradise when it comes to decor and clothing as Disney puts out even more villain themed sweatshirts, shirts, hats, and other merchandise during its Halloween season. Most of my favorite Ursala clothing items have been found during a fall trip to Walt Disney World. Remember you can not only find these great items in parks, but also by going to Disney Springs and checking out their many shops!

Food

Beyond just dressing up the streets and the characters Disney does a SPOOK-tacular job with making food even more frightfully fun. From cupcakes and very questionably dipped “poison caramel apples” you’ll find that every treat has a holiday twist. This only adds to the fun and magic of the season!

Halloween Cinnamon Roll.

So even though Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is canceled this year there’s still plenty of holiday fun to find at Magic Kingdom this season! Happy Fall Y’all!
