Chase Lounge

For those Disney fans that have opted to take out a Chase Disney Visa Card, one of the favorite card-member perks has been the exclusive “Members Only” Lounge area available to guests visiting Epcot during the International Food & Wine Festival.  The lounge, located at the American Pavilion was an oasis of calm during a very busy festival and guests would flock here to cool off, recharge cell phones and cameras and enjoy a free Coke beverage.

However, on the opening day of this year’s  Food & Wine Festival, the sad news began trickling in that the exclusive Chase lounge would not be re-opening this year. This left many card-members disappointed at losing yet another Disney Visa perk and also worried about the future of the longstanding partnership between Chase and Disney.  Speculation was rife that Disney and Chase were preparing to go their separate ways when it was noticed that Chase was not listed as a sponsor of this year’s Festival.

So what’s the latest on the Chase sponsorship saga? In news that is sure to be a relief to card-carrying Disney Visa members, it was announced two days ago that Chase and Disney have renewed both the Disney Premier Visa card and the Disney Visa debit card as part of a multi-year agreement.  This means that those with existing cards will be safe, for the time being.

Does this mean they’ll be bringing back the Chase Disney Visa Card Member’s Lounge at Food & Wine? There are currently rumors circulating that now that the agreement has been formalized between Chase and Disney that plans are already afoot to re-open the lounge bringing a much-loved member perk back to the Festival.  However, at the moment it is just that, speculation.  Readers are encouraged to keep following along with Disney Addicts and our sister site Chip and Co. for the latest news and updates regarding Chase’s presence at this year’s Festival.
What does this mean for other perks like exclusive meet and greets, merchandise discounts etc.? At the moment, it is too early to tell.  The list of perks haven’t changed on the Disney Visa website but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled and promise to keep you in the know of any changes to cardholder benefits.
