On May 1st Disney celebrated its past, present, and future at Hollywood Studios! Today I am focusing on the future of this park and all of the exciting new features that were announced! Plus a little reminder of the announcements Disney has already made.
Hold the ball everyone, Toy Story Land came out the big winner in this 30th-anniversary celebration! This land is not just getting 1 new feature, it’s getting 2: a new table service restaurant and a pop-up store! My two favorite things; eating and shopping!
Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Toy Story Land is getting a new table service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ! This fun, family-friendly restaurant will surround guests with bright, bold colors of Emperor Zurg, Bo Peep, and of course Woody! The exact location of the new eatery has not been announced, but word is “a pathway leading from the main promenade of Toy Story Land will lead you to the entry of the restaurant, where you’ll be greeted by a large, oversized box that has been decorated with crayons, stickers, and toothpick flags to create a festive entry awning.” I can’t wait to dig in!
This new table service restaurant is a welcomed addition because of its close proximity to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. This will give diners additional options in this back section of the park.
Toy Story Mania! Merchandise Shop
June 21, 2019, Disney Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” will debut in theaters! There is no better way to celebrate than to go shopping! A pop-up merchandise location will be opening at Toy Story Land later in May. This new shop will be located at the exit of Toy Story Mania! Of course, this shop will feature a variety of “Toy Story” products, including new items featuring characters from the “Toy Story 4” film. I can’t wait to get my hands on Forky!
In addition to the new Toy Story pop-up store, 30th anniversary Disney’s Hollywood Studios merchandise is already available throughout the park, including T-shirts, baseball caps, tumbler, MagicBand, ornament and much more.
Wonderful World of Animation Projection Show
I spy with my little eye Sorcerer Apprentice Mickey, Wreck-it Ralph, the Incredibles, Cars, Elsa, Genie from Aladdin, and my favorite, Snow White! “Wonderful World of Animation” is the park’s new nighttime projection show. During the show, the façade of the iconic Chinese Theatre is magically transformed paying tribute to animation that includes magic, family, friendship, romance, and adventure.
Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from beloved films—like “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Incredibles,” “Coco” and many more. Each night, this new show will lead into the popular “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.”
Disney’s Hollywood Studios New Logo
Honoring the transformation from the past to the present and the future, Disney unveiled its new logo for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The logo features BB-8 from Star Wars, Woody and the mouse himself, Mickey Mouse. I love the simplicity of the new design!
The Present Hollywood Studios
I need to make sure to mention all of the fantastic new attractions that have recently opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the recently opened Toy Story Land. Guests can also hit the road with Lighting McQueen in Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. You can also meet Edna Mode at An Incredible Celebration on Pixar Place! And last but not least, Disney Junior Dance Party debuted this year! And we’re only 5 months in!
The Future of Hollywood Studios
What has already been released about the future for Hollywood Studios? We can’t forget about all of the previous announcements that have been made for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Remember that little 14-acre land, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is opening up August 29, 2019! Make sure to read all about Batuu here! In addition, there will be a new Star Wars immersed theme hotel coming soon!
Plus the attraction I am looking forward to the most is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! The first ride-through attraction in Disney Parks history to feature Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse is planned to open spring 2020!
