When you think of Disney World, camping may not be one of the first things that cross your mind, maybe it should be! Whether you prefer to camp in an RV or stay in a furnished and spacious rustic cabin, Disney’s Fort Wilderness combines all the fun of camping with all the magic of staying on Disney property!

How to rent an RV and campsite

Did you know that you don’t have to own an RV to stay on a campsite? Guests can actually rent RVs from one of Disney’s official vendors that even include dropping it off and hooking it up! You really don’t have to have any experience, they will handle it all for you. But before you go securing your camper, you’ll first want to reserve your campsite dates with the resort. It is helpful to have an idea of what size RV you will be using, to ensure your site has adequate room.

Once your site is reserved, you can go ahead and reserve your camper! It is highly recommended to also rent a golf cart for easy traveling throughout the massive grounds. Trust me, your feet will thank you! On arrival day you will still need to check in and will use the drive-thru check-in lanes. Your RV vendor will drop off and set up your camper and hook up the electrical and sewer. Then all you have left to do is enjoy your new tiny home!

On the day of check out, you will want to make sure your vendor has enough time to pick up the RV, so you may need to be packed up and ready to go a little earlier than the official check-out time. This option is great for guests having health and safety concerns and prefer their own personal space.
