How to Celebrate Easter at Walt Disney World

It’s hard to believe that Easter is almost here! Unfortunately, Walt Disney World is temporarily closed for the Easter season this year. Of course, many fans are missing their favorite Disney attractions and entertainment. But some of you probably didn’t know about all the special offerings for celebrating Easter at Walt Disney World! We’re taking a look back at what was available for the Easter weekend at Walt Disney World in 2019. Even though we won’t see it this year, we can enjoy learning about how to celebrate Easter at Disney in the future!

Easter Parade

Did you know that Disney offers a special parade at Magic Kingdom during Easter weekend? It’s a short parade that takes place before the scheduled Festival of Fantasy Parade. It’s a fun seasonal show to help visitors enjoy their Easter at Magic Kingdom. A group of Fantasia character lead the parade as the music starts. Fans can watch the ballet-dancing hippos and ostriches start the show. The Azalea Trail Maids soon follow. Seeing them is a real treat for guests! The Azalea Trail Maids are a group of 50 high school seniors from Mobile, Alabama. They serve as goodwill ambassadors who embody the spirit of Southern hospitality. Their antebellum-style dresses represent spring flowers. Daisy Duck led the group of Azalea Trail Maids last year.

Other highlights of the parade include seeing various Disney bunnies riding together in a parade float. Both the White Rabbit (Alice in Wonderland) and Rabbit (Winnie the Pooh) were among the group of Disney characters. Of course, the real star of the show is the Easter Bunny riding in a motorcade!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Meeting Thumper and Miss Bunny

Character hunters will love this meet and greet opportunity! Both Thumper and Miss Bunny made a rare appearance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom last Easter. Disney fans will remember seeing the two bunnies in Bambi.

Chocolate Easter Egg Displays at Disney Resorts

We hopped around the Disney resorts last year to find these culinary masterpieces! The Disney bakers outdid themselves with these chocolate Easter eggs at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Yacht Club Resort, and Beach Club Resort. Check out some of the colorful displays below!

The Zootopia and Mad Tea Party chocolate eggs were among our favorites at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

This display was available at Disney’s Beach Club Resort last year.

These are just a few of the artistic displays at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. It’s amazing that these decorative Easter eggs are all made of chocolate!

Meeting the Easter Bunny

Those who like meeting special characters will enjoy this! Guests can meet with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny in the days leading to Easter Sunday. It’s a great photo opportunity and both characters are a hit with families.

We hope you have a great Easter next week and enjoy these photos. It’s never too early to plan your next Disney vacation, so consider an Easter trip next year! You’ll enjoy seeing the sights and sounds of the season at Walt Disney World.
