WDW Universal

When you come to Disney World for a vacation you may want to also check out other attractions in the Orlando area. If you fly here you might be wondering how to get around the area. Most people want to specifically know how to transport from Disney to Universal Studios. There are multiple options to get from point A to point B. Let’s go over some of the best ways to do so.

First off you could rent a car. This option although the most pricey option can provide you with all your transportation needs for your entire trip. Then you don’t have to wait for anyone to get around, except for I4 traffic. Also, you can pick up and drop off your rental car right at the airport. Or maybe you don’t need it the whole trip take the Disney Magical Express from the airport to the resort, if on the property, and then when you need to rent a car, you can through Disney’s Car Care Center.  They will provide a shuttle service for you to the center to pick up your rental car. You can reach them by calling 407-824-3470. This would also be a good resource if you have any car issues as well, as they also offer roadside assistance.

Taking a taxi is always an option too. It can be a fairly quick option but can be a bit pricey especially depending on traffic in the area. Mears Transportation is a widely used taxi service. You can book them by calling 855-463-2776. The ride from Disney to Universal would cost roughly $60 one way. You can use the mobile app to make reservations as well.

Mears also has a shuttle service from Disney hotels to Universal. They cost about $35 per adult and $27 per child round trip. They schedule these shuttle rides typically on the hour, and there are usually other parties that will also be riding with you on the shuttle. Again you can give them a call to prearrange this pickup and drop off.

Uber or Lyft are great newer options that are becoming a popular choice. They are cheaper than some other options, but the prices can fluctuate depending on the time of the day and demand. You can set these pickups ahead of time, or when you are ready to leave. The ride is around $25 and up, one way. You can utilize these ride services by downloading the app on your phone. You will need to be over 18 and set up a credit card to get a ride. Make sure you turn on your location settings so the app can find where you are. Then type your destination.

The app will show you, drivers in your area, and pricing at that time. It will tell you how long it will take for the driver to arrive. Also, what type of car they will be driving license plate and color of the vehicle, as well as a photo of your driver and name. Make sure these things match up before getting into the vehicle for safety. This would be my personal choice. I often use these services when I travel and they are pretty easy to use. The drivers also want good reviews, as it boosts their stars, so I feel they are more accommodating. This option adds great flexibility to your plans, and if changes arise you can adjust easily with this option.
