Make a Wish Kid Cora Met Baby Elephant Corra on a Special Trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Today we want to share with you a heart warming story, meet Cora, a five year old who found peace and magic in the “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom” special on Disney+ while she was about to go through her first open heart surgery.
Make-A-Wish and Disney made her dream come true when she expressed interest in visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom park and all the wonders it has to offer, after all, this very same location helped her take her mind off of everything she was going through and get immerse in nature and magic.
“We started watching the show at the hospital, and it gave Cora an escape,” her mom said. “She was watching the animals go through some of the same things she was going through during treatments, and it calmed her fears. It means the world to now see her wish come true and enjoy being a kid with the people most special to her.”

When planning for the big day, elephant keepers at Walt Disney World had someone very special they wanted Cora to meet…baby elephant Corra! Corra made her savanna debut at the park two months ago and was the first animal Wish Kid Cora asked to see. The meet and greet was the beginning of what would turn into a day where wishes came true and memories were made!
“I’ve been on the team for 16 years, and this is an extra special experience,” elephant keeper Michelle said. “It’s really meaningful to do something that turns into someone’s wish.”
Cora dreams to be a doctor someday, so of course she loved spending some time with her favorite cast on the show, veterinarians Dr. Jen and Dr. Geoff! They even let her practice with her very own stethoscope! We are sure she will make a great doctor one day.
Cora had a magical experience at Disney World, not only she got to enjoy some time with the Animals, Science and Environment cast, she also got an exclusive safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and an up close encounter with cotton-top tamarins and lemurs at Animal Kingdom, plus a private visit to Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
