Walt Disney once said “we keep moving forward and opening new doors…” and that is something that we see around the parks a lot, so of course there is no surprise that the next thing Disney is moving forward with is the technology behind the MagicBand we all know and love.
MagicBand+ will be introduced to the public in 2022 with a big upgrade since its debut in 2013. As of right now, magicbands are used as park entry, room key, to pay for merch and dining, photopass card and more! So what’s next?

Here’s a list of the new features that are coming with MagicBand+:
- Find virtual bounties throughout the Black Spire Outpost in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as you play like a bounty hunter in a galaxy far far away!
- Interact with the Disney Fab 50 character statues around the Walt Disney World Resort.
- Experience nighttime spectaculars like never before as you see your magicband+ light up and complement the magic in the skies during Harmonious at Epcot and Disney Enchantment in Magic Kingdom!
Sounds cool right? Well you will be able to get yours beginning next year! A discounted pre-arrival price for Disney Resort guests, as well as, new and renewing annual passholders will also be available.

All current magic bands will continue to work and be available for purchase, as well as, the complimentary Disney MagicMobile service that extends magic band features such as park entry to smart devices.
