Our team at Chip and Co had the incredible opportunity to attend the opening night of Halloween Horror Nights 33 at Universal Orlando, where we were invited to experience all 10 haunted houses on an exclusive RIP tour. After an evening filled with chills, thrills, and more than a few screams, we’re excited to bring you our full review and ranking of this year’s haunted houses.

#10: Goblin’s Feast
While none of the houses this year are skippable, Goblin’s Feast lands at the bottom of our list. This house is packed with impressive details, but when stacked against the others, it doesn’t quite reach the same level of intensity. It’s still worth a visit, but we recommend prioritizing the others first.
#9: The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
This house offered some solid jump scares and an intriguing backstory, but it felt a bit short. The concept of a haunted folklore museum with an evil spirit released by an ancient relic is compelling, but it just didn’t have the same impact as the other houses. It’s still fun, but you won’t miss much if you save it for later in the evening.
#8: Major Sweets Candy Factory
We were pleasantly surprised by this house, which combined fun and terror in a unique way. The guest-activated buttons added an interactive element, and the candy-coated killers were both creepy and playful. We were pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed this house, however, it didn’t quite match the overall terror of the higher-ranked houses.
#7: Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
As a huge Ghostbusters fan, the Firehouse scene in this house was a personal favorite. The aesthetics and the coolness factor were off the charts, but the scare factor wasn’t as high compared to the others. It’s more about the visual experience than pure horror, making it a must-see for fans but not the scariest of the night.
#6: Slaughter Sinema 2
A sequel that lives up to its predecessor, Slaughter Sinema 2 delivers a thrilling mix of creature features and grindhouse gore. The jesters were a highlight, and the house overall offered a fun, nostalgic horror movie marathon vibe. It’s definitely one to check off your list.
#5: Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America
This house is a celebration of Latin American horror legends, featuring terrifying creatures like Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza, and El Silbón. The animatronics and scene design were top-notch, and the jump scares were plentiful. This house is a must-do for those looking for a blend of cultural horror and modern fright.
#4: Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines
As a nod to Universal’s horror legacy, this house delivers in spades. With Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein facing off against Dracula’s daughter and her monstrous allies, it’s a battle of epic proportions. The scares are intense, and the atmosphere is drenched in classic horror. It’s a fitting tribute to the genre that Universal helped to create.
#3: Triplets of Terror
Going into the evening, we didn’t expect to rank this house so high, but it truly exceeded our expectations. If you’re a fan of campy 80s slasher films, this house is for you. The story, characters, and scares all hit the mark, making it a surprisingly fun and terrifying experience.
#2: A Quiet Place
Fans of the films will not be disappointed. This house captures the tension and terror of the movies perfectly. The sets are immersive, the theming is on point, and the scares are relentless. It’s an experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and it’s one of the top houses to hit during your visit.
#1: Insidious: The Further
Taking the top spot is Insidious: The Further. We were fortunate enough to experience this house twice, and it only got scarier the second time around. The atmosphere is drenched in dread, and the scares are perfectly timed. It’s one of the most terrifying haunted houses we’ve ever encountered at Halloween Horror Nights, and it absolutely deserves to be at the top of your must-do list.
