One thing Walt Disney World Resort is known for is top-notch customer service. One of the reasons Disney has such outstanding customer service is the employment of a dedicated and hardworking behind-the-scenes staff. This team also includes Disney’s “Mousekeeping” staff. So should guests reward their room cleaning team with a tip? If so, how much is standard? Here are a few suggestions:
Should I tip mousekeeping?
There is no better way to say “thank you” than leaving a token of appreciation as a cash tip. Of course, tipping is not mandatory, but it is definitely a polite gesture of thanks. I always tip housekeeping on my Disney vacations.
How much should I tip?
Of course, there are differing opinions on how much to tip. It seems as though the general rule is to tip $1 per person in the traveling party per day. For example, if you have a family of 4, it would be polite to tip $4 per day. Some guests choose to leave even more, and I’m sure Disney’s hardworking staff appreciates it, especially if they’ve gone above and beyond expectations.
How often is Mousekeeping servicing rooms?
Currently, Disney guarantees that all rooms will be thoroughly cleaned upon check-in and receive modified cleaning service throughout the stay. This modified cleaning service is a light cleaning every other day. This means tips do not have to be left on a daily basis while modified service is being offered. Of course, guests can always call the hotel front desk and request extra cleaning or items such as towels.
Remember, generosity and kindness can go a long way! Be sure to let all of the hard-working cast members know you appreciate their effort.
