We recently had a first look at the newly refurbished Moana-inspired rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The rooms look amazing! The Moana theming really fits in with the style and aesthetic of the Polynesian. This leaves us wondering if we are going to see characters from the hit movie in other places at the Polynesian. One thought is that Spirit of Aloha could add Moana to its theme when it reopens to guests.
Spirit of Aloha is a luau-style dance and dinner show. The show takes place in the open-air tropical setting of Luau Cove. Unfortunately, this show is still temporarily suspended due to Covid. However, this closure might give Disney the perfect opportunity to add changes to the popular show and maybe even add some Moana touches to it! Personally, I would love to see Moana and Maui take part in the luau! They are both rarely seen characters and I know many guests would love the opportunity to see them.
I loved my experience at Spirit of Aloha, and felt it was very similar to attending an actual Hawaiian luau! We know Disney goes all out when they put on a show! I feel that adding Moana and Maui to the show would really bring even more enjoyment and also add more of a Disney touch. With hula dancing, drummers, and even a fire-knife performer, the show is very entertaining. Moana and Maui would definitely fit right in. Even if the characters did not perform, it would be great to see them meet and greet guests and be available for photos after the show.
It seems like slowly but surely, things are starting to return to normal and more experiences are coming back to Disney. Moana is a very popular movie and it would be great to see more representation.
