The dust has barely settled from Halloween, and literally, overnight, Disney World is ready for Christmas! Christmastime is perhaps one of the absolute most magical times to visit Walt Disney World. It can also be one of the most crowded times. So, should you plan a trip during the holidays? Let’s take a look at some pros and cons.

The Beautiful Seasonal Decorations

One reason to visit during the holidays is the amazing and beautiful holiday decorations! The decorations appear quite literally overnight on Halloween night. Guests could visit Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park on Halloween and return to an entirely differently decorated park on the morning of November 1! Disney does not do anything 1/2 way, and decorating is no exception! The most magical place on Earth somehow becomes even more magical when it’s all decked out for Christmas.

The Resort Hotels Get into the Holiday Spirit

Just as the parks are magnificently decorated for Christmas, so are many of Disney’s resort hotels! Some of them go all out, like The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and their life-sized gingerbread house display. It is so much fun to explore the different resorts and see the unique way they are decorated during the holidays.

EPCOT’s International festival of the Holidays

This seasonal festival incorporates cultural food and drinks from around the world as well as tons of seasonal entertainment. This year, the festival will run from November 26 to December 30, 2021. Enjoy activities such as the Candlelight Processional and the annual cookie stroll! This festival is truly a holiday event you won’t want to miss.

The Entertainment

From the seasonal nighttime shows to the fun entertainment and even the fun Christmas Tree Walk at Disney Springs, there is just so much to do and see during the holidays at Disney World. There are special Christmas cavalcades and let’s not forget the new after-hours event debuting this year at Magic Kingdom, Disney Very Merriest After Hours Special Event, which is sure obe filled with fun seasonal surprises!

The Crowds

The one main negative thing about visiting during Christmastime is most definitely the crowds. The holidays can definitely be one of the absolute busiest times of the year and wait times can be hefty for attractions. Of course, with some planning, the crowds can be navigated and the trip can still be very successful.

It is always a good time to visit Disney in my book, and there really is no more magical time than Christmas, but if you really dislike crowds or long lines, visiting during the holidays may not be for you.
