Are you looking for a way to spend some quality time with your family? Are you looking to chase away some of the Disney blues between trips? Well, a Disney themed family game night may be just what you need to achieve both of these goals! Here are the top ten Disney games that I personally would include in a family game night and I think that you should, too!
Obviously there is no way that all ten games are going to be played on the same night, but you can play one or two and save the rest for future game nights! Why not turn it into a once a month or even one a week thing! More Disney and more family time can never be a bad thing, right?!
- Puzzles – There are some amazing Disney puzzles out there! There are some with not so many pieces, and some with hundreds of pieces. Some show characters or movie scenes, and some show the Disney Parks. Some are for little ones while others are just for those that are old enough to ride Space Mountain. No matter what puzzle style you have, they will make a great addition to a family game night!
- Scrabble – The Disney Theme Park Edition of Scrabble is traditional Scrabble, but with a Disney twist. You can get bonus points for Disney words! This is great for the whole family, but it can be especially great for those with little ones that are just learning to spell!
- Doc McStuffin’s Operation – This one is for the Disney Junior fans out there! I remember playing the original Operation game when I was growing up, and I was never very good at it. In this edition the cards are shaped like Band-Aids with hearts and the pieces to remove are things like music notes and butterflies! Join Doc and all of your favorite characters to fix the boo-boos.
- Disney Pictopia – Test your Disney trivia skills with this game of Disney pictures and questions. Bet on your confidence that you will get a question right, answer correctly, and make it to the castle before everyone else to be King or Queen of your family game night.
- Disney Princess Candy Land – This game is especially great for those with little princesses. Just like the original Candy Land, make your way down the sweet candy path. This time, though, it’s with your favorite Disney Princesses! Be the first one to the ball to win.
- Monopoly – There are a few different versions out there, but no matter what version you have you’ll be sure to have fun! With the Disney Theme Parks Edition you’ll play with game pieces in the shapes of your favorite characters and the game board includes your favorite attractions!
- Apples to Apples Disney – I love the original Apples to Apples game, my family played it quite frequently. Adding Disney to anything only makes it better, and that is certainly the case here, too! Pick the card in your hand that best fits with the one for comparison, but now with a Disney twist.
- Disney Pictionary – Everyone knows the original Pictionary – try your best to draw out the word on your card for your team to try to guess. Now, it’s with Disney characters! So team up and try your hand at “animation”!
- Disney Clue – This classic who done it game has two Disney versions, Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror. Gather clues to find out just which character, well done it.
- Trivial Pursuit – Test your overall Disney knowledge with Disney Trivial Pursuit! Answer questions to fill your Mickey game piece and become Disney trivia champion of your house!
A great way to keep the Disney theme is to decorate the room you’ll be playing in. Maybe check out the Dollar Store or even make your own decorations. Put out your Mickey hats and wear your matching shirts from your last trip!
Don’t forget the Disney snacks! Do you have snacks left over from your last trip? Set those out for the extra Disney feel! You could even make your own Disney snacks! Or you could pick from up from your local grocery store, there are so many options out there!
