Nelson Ribeiro, a Senior Graphic Designer supporting Marvel, channels his childhood memories of meeting Mickey Mouse in Magic Kingdom. His “Mickey Faces” design blends the vibrant energy of Marvel comics with the playful charm of Mickey, creating a dynamic tribute that reflects his belief in the power of storytelling to connect people. For Ribeiro, Mickey Mouse is more than just a character; he’s a symbol of imagination and shared experiences.

Kaori Matsuo, a Lead Artist with DCP in Japan, sees a parallel between Mickey Mouse and her passion for design: bringing joy to others. Her “Mickey Faces” design is subtly clever, with elements that come together to form Mickey’s shape only when viewed as a whole. Matsuo’s creation embodies the idea of reimagining the familiar, reflecting the timeless nature of Mickey’s appeal and the personal connections we forge with him.

Catherine Chen, a Senior Designer supporting Mickey and Friends, infuses her design with a touch of nostalgia and a nod to the digital age. Inspired by early Macintosh computer graphics, Chen’s “Mickey Faces” design layers pixelated patterns with organic floral elements, blending the mechanical and the natural. She even incorporates a hidden tribute to Mickey’s origins, the year “1928,” subtly woven into the design.
