This year hasn’t being an easy one for Disney World, first closing the parks for months and now having to let go thousands of Cast Members including some of the most beloved entertainment acts.
With the parks operating at 30% capacity, social distancing guidelines and Disneyland still closed, there’s no surprise layoffs were about to happen. We are still extremely sad to see some of our favorite shows go.
The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra
If you ever visited the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, then you must remember the marvelous melodies floating through the air during the afternoon and evenings.
Recently, they were transferred to the Theater of the Stars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to replace the Beauty and The Beast show delighting guests with their favorite Disney Songs! Unfortunately, their time at Disney has come to an end with no return date as of now.
If you would like to catch their last performance, you can visit Hollywood Studios on October 3rd.
Yehaa Bob
Another Disney World favorite was also cut off from the entertainment offerings, Yehaa Bob, who has been playing at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort for 23 years!
Polynesian Resort Entertainers
The entertainers from Spirit of Aloha dinner show and Lipoa the Ukelele Lady from Ohana are also among the acts that were cut off from Disney.
Right now the resort is going under a big refurbishment so in a way it makes sense to cut these entertainment options.
Other entertainment acts that had to go earlier this year were:
- British Revolution at the U.K pavilion
- Matsuriza (drummers) at the Japan pavilion
- Serveur Amusant (stacking chair acrobats) at the France pavilion
- Master Juggler Sergio (juggling clown act) at the Italy Pavilion
Cast Members are the ones making our visits to a Disney Park more magical, so we are extremely sad to see them go. But just know, you are magic and you will bring that everywhere you go!
