Character Dining is a great way to have some delicious food and get to meet some of your favorite characters at the same time! There are 5 restaurants at the Disneyland Resort that offer character dining.
Ariel’s Grotto
Located on Paradise Pier in Disney California Adventure, Ariel’s Grotto serves American and Vegetarian cuisine. This restaurant is the best place to see some of your favorite Disney Princesses. The princesses do not appear during the World of Color Dinner Celebration, so be sure to make your reservations for earlier in the day! You can also purchase a framed souvenir photo of your prince or princess with their favorite Disney Princess.
Disney’s PCH Grill
The PCH Grill is located in the Paradise Pier Hotel. This restaurant serves American cuisine and characters only appear during the Surf’s Up Breakfast. The breakfast is a buffet with an omelet station, Mickey waffles, smoothies and much more. My family and I did this character meal in 2013 and we got to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse Pluto, Daisy, and Stitch. My son also had a great time dancing with the characters during the dance party!
Goofy’s Kitchen
Goofy’s Kitchen is located in the Disneyland Hotel and also serves American cuisine buffet-style. You can see many favorite Disney characters at either breakfast or dinner. Both meals have 5 food stations that offer a wide range of choices, but don’t forget to try Goofy’s peanut butter and jelly pizza! I haven’t had the opportunity to eat here yet, but many other guests have said that this is the best character dining at the Disneyland Resort.
Plaza Inn
The Plaza Inn is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland. The character dining offered at this restaurant is the “Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park” all you can eat buffet. Load up your plate with Mickey waffles, French toast, bacon and more! Characters will visit you at your table while you eat. My family and I were able to do this character meal in August and there was a wide variety of characters! We got to meet Minnie Mouse, Captain Hook, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Rafiki, The Fairy Godmother, a mouse from Cinderella, and Goofy’s son, Max. If you make early reservations, you might even be able to enter the park before it opens!
Storytellers Café
Located in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Storytellers Café also offers a character breakfast buffet. At the Chip & Dale Critter Breakfast, you’ll enjoy home-style breakfast favorites and get to meet some rarely seen characters! Meeko from Pocahontas, Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear, and Brer Bear are just a few of the characters you might see. The characters at this meal will come to your table to visit you, so have your camera ready!
*Keep in mind that characters are subject to change, as are menu items*
