Q: What is a bounce back offer and how do I get one?

A: If you’re anything like me, I am merely a few hours into my Walt Disney World Vacation and already thinking about, daydreaming and planning for the next holiday! Being at Disney World is such a happy time for visitors and their families that who doesn’t want it to happen again? I imagine there’s probably a lot of people out there that feel the same way and to entice guests to come back for another go, Disney has created the Bounce Back Offer.

Bounce Back Offers are unique discounts only given to those that are currently on vacation at Walt Disney World. Bounce Backs provide a nice discount should you decide to book your next trip to Disney before your current vacation is even finished.

Be on the lookout for such discounts in the backs of the small magazines that come in your resort welcome packet. Other guests have reported seeing Bounce Back Offers on the Disney information channel on your resort television or have been emailed with Bounce Back Offers while still on vacation. If none of these avenues seem open to you try dialing Ext 8844 from your resort room phone to find out what the current offer is or visit the Front Desk of your resort to inquire.

Bounce Back Offers can be quite generous. For instance, the current Bounce Back on offer at Walt Disney World began running in October and is set to expire August 15th 2017. Disney is offering 30% off Deluxe Resorts, 25% off Moderates, 20% off Value Resorts. This offer is currently active for bookings through December 2017. However, guests should note that black-out dates and restrictions do apply. For instance, the offer is not valid during October or November of 2017. Disney has also been known to offer ‘Free Dining” Bounce Back Offers to those with packages booked during a Free Dining promotion offering them the same discount the next time they visit. So with Bounce Back Offers there are clearly bargains to be had.

In order to be eligible to receive the offer you MUST currently be a Walt Disney World Resort guest and linked to a valid reservation. The Bounce Back Offer stops being valid if you are no longer a guest. If you want to make a booking, you simply call the number listed with the offer and give them the unique offer code. You must then secure your reservation by paying a deposit which is either $200.00 for a package or 1 night hotel room if you are room only reservation.

Seem a bit spur of the moment? Then remember that Bounce Back Offers are subject to the same cancellation policy as regular packages which means that once your deposit is paid you have up to 30 days prior to arrival date to cancel without incurring a penalty. So even if you aren’t 100% sure that the vacation will ever come to fruition, it may be worth it to book in under the Bounce Back Offer to know that you’re saving yourself a good bit of money if you do decide to go back and if not then you simply cancel if you need to down the road.

What happens if I need to change my dates closer to my vacation? When planning your next Walt Disney World vacation that far in advance it is possible that commitments may come up and dates need to be changed. At any point up until 30 days before your vacation you can cancel without penalty. But for those just looking to shift ahead a week or two, you can still keep your Bounce Back Offer provided that it falls within the dates listed in the original offer. For instance if the offer was only good through the month of September, you couldn’t change your dates to November and still qualify for the offer.

What happens if I booked under the Bounce Back Offer but Disney is now offering a regular discount that will provide more savings? When making your Walt Disney World reservation, you always have the ability to apply eligible discounts but may only use one at a time. So let say you booked under a Bounce Back Offer and received a 25% resort discount but then Disney releases Free Dining and for you that is the better value for money. You have the ability to cancel your Bounce Back Offer and go with the new Free Dining offer. However you can’t keep both offers, just one.

I always book through my travel agent, if I book a Bounce Back does this mean I can’t work with them? Absolutely not. As a matter of fact there are one of two ways this works. If you call up directly to book your Bounce Back Offer and you are currently visiting on a package booked through an agent, the package booked for the Bounce Back will automatically be attributed to that same agent. It’s that easy! That means that once you get back from holiday they will be there to help you plan the next one! Alternatively, you can contact your Travel Agent with the details of the Bounce Back Offer that you are interested in including the offer code and they are able to call and book it in for you directly.

Bounce Back Offers can be a fun, exciting and cost-effective way of helping you plan for your next holiday. However they aren’t always guaranteed and there may be months where they aren’t currently on offer. If in doubt, speak to your travel agent. They are typically up to speed on all of the current offers out there including Bounce Backs and should be able to guide you in the right direction.
