Q: What exactly is Disney’s Fast Pass+?
Answer: It gives you the magical ability to bypass the stand by line!
Most of us are used to the old paper Fast Passes, some aren’t too happy with the new Fast Pass +(FP) at WDW but it is a pretty cool deal.
Fast Passes are when you can go into the Fast Pass lane at a designated attraction and your wait is significantly shorter than the Standby line. They are free. They are available at the 4 main parks. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.
First you can pick your FP days before your arrival. 60 Days if your staying on property and 30 off property to be exact. Here is where it may get a bit tricky or confusing… When you are able to select your picks, you can choose up to 3. Has to be at 1 park. (Can’t select Expedition Everest at AK, then MK to Meet Anna & Elsa then finish with Fantasmic at HS.) Once you use those Fast Passes, you are able to pick 1 more, and when you use that 1, pick another… and so on. Make sense? If your day looks like…
Magic Kingdom: Meet Mickey 10:20-11:20am. Splash Mountain 12:45-1:45pm. 7 Dwarf Mine Train ride 2:15-3:15pm.
After you use them you can go to a FP Kiosk and set up another, so try out maybe Jungle Cruise.(If you miss your time not due to weather, you miss out on your FP)
OR you can park hop and get a FP selection there. If you use it wisely and plan your dining around it, you should be all set! Make sure you have time to get to the next, and find where it is the next attraction may be ahead of time. Also, if you are planning yourself, or have a TA helping you and the crowd levels may be high, plan out your days the best you can. Dining reservations, what FP selections to make and routes on the best way to get there. All your selections go onto your MagicBand or Card. Taking advantage of the FP system can really make your vacation, that much more Magical by cutting down your wait times in lines! Make the most of your vacation!
