What is Still Closed at Disney World?

Walt Disney World resort promptly reopened after closing due to Hurricane Ian, there are a few attractions, restaurants, and experiences that remain closed. Here is an updated list so that you are fully prepared if you are visiting Disney World soon.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park

Here is a current list of everything closed at Magic Kingdom Park:

  • Walt Disney World Railroad- no reopening date but will hopefully reopen when TRON: Lightcycle Run construction is complete
  • Tomorrowland Light 7 Power Co.- this gift shop is also closed due to the construction of TRON: Lightcycle Run and does not have an opening date.
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle- guests can sometimes still meet Belle in this location, but the actual attraction is not open.
  • Pete’s Silly Slideshow- Disney has announced that we can expect this fun meet-and-greet location to reopen in the coming months.
  • Ariel’s Grotto- Ariel is still missing from her meet-and-greet spot, although the attraction Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid has remained open and operating. We do not yet have a date that Ariel will return her meet-and-greets at this location.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park

Here is a list of what is currently not open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park

  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid- this fun stage show remains closed and we do not have a reopening date from Disney.
  • Fantasmic!- Good news for Fantasmic! lovers- cast member rehearsals for this popular show have begun and the show will be reopening this year!

Disney’s EPCOT Park

EPCOT is undergoing a complete transformation yet has very few actual closures to report:

  • Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision- We are expecting this experience to return once EPCOT’s International Festival of Food & Wine ends on November 19th.
  • American Adventure Pavilion Show- this show is closed for routine refurbishment and has no official reopening date.

Disney Resort Hotel Restaurants

  • Kona Cafe inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort remains temporarily closed. Disney World’s website is showing available hours for this location starting November 1st, 2022. In the meantime, guests can still mobile order from this location.
  • Narcoossee’s- this popular dining location in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has been temporarily shut down since July. We can expect this location to reopen sometime in 2023.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

This water park remains closed for refurbishment, but guests can still visit Disney’s other water park- Typhoon Lagoon.
