So, how many of you have heard of the Pirates League at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World? If you haven’t, then your missing out on something great to add to your vacation experience! The Pirates League is a magical experience that transforms you into a swashbuckling Pirate, Empress or Mermaid (and yes, adults can join in the fun too but kiddies need to be at least 3 years old!)! You can find this magical place next door to the Pirate’s of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom (separate park entrance required) and reservations are STRONGLY suggested, especially if you plan on visiting the day you are attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. You can actually make your reservations 180 days in advance and that’s a very good thing!
There are five different packages to choose from First Mate, Empress, Captain Hook Deluxe, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and finally the Mermaid! Pricing begins at $34.95 and goes up from there…if you want to save a little, make sure to bring your pirates costume with you! Of course there are additional package options to add on but all of the packages include exceptional facial makeup and the ladies will of course get nail polish and lip gloss (just make sure that there is no nail polish on their nails before they arrive!)! A temporary tattoo, coin necklace and Pirates League bag are just some of the other booty in your Pirates haul for the day!
Just so we are on the same page here, after this spectacular makeover you are not expected to just be a pirate, there are certain things that you will need to be taught! Once you have learned how to walk and talk like a pirate and you have received your pirate name (yes, everyone gets their own pirate name!) you take the Pirate Oath. After that you are taken to the secret chamber to earn your Pirate stripes! You will also be able to take part in the Parade of Pirates through Adventureland (weather permitting)…your Pirate Masters will tell you all about it!
Once you visit the Pirates League a trip to the Magic Kingdom will never be the same! I would also suggest trying to get the earliest appointment available, usually 9 AM so your little Pirate or Empress will have the whole day to enjoy their transformed self, matey! If you need help planning your next trip, including your appointment to the Pirates League let me know! I’d be happy to help you map out your next swashbuckling adventure home!
