For those excitedly waiting to lock in your Walt Disney World vacation plans for 2019, the wait is almost over! Disney announced last week that 2019 Disney Vacation packages will be going on sale on June 19, 2018!
This is great news for Disney fans as locking in your package early is a great way of ensuring that you get the date and resort that you want. It also gives you more time to make your payments. However, there are a few caveats that you’ll want to be aware of going into the booking process:
I’d like to book a package for December 2019. Can I do this next week? Disney will only allow you to book packages 499 days out when they are released next Tuesday. Guests looking to visit Mickey during the end of the year may need to wait a little longer for your booking to open up.
I’m hoping to book a Grand Villa, will these open up next week? When it comes to booking a Disney Vacation Club property which includes studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and Grand Villas, early availability can be a bit touch and go. As these are DVC properties, DVC members get first dibs on rooms using their DVC points. About 6 months out Disney Vacation Club will start to release villas that haven’t been booked to Walt Disney Travel Company. There may be exceptions to this, so I definitely encourage you to start looking for availability beginning next week but don’t worry if you aren’t seeing any villas available straight away.
Will I be able to get a discount when packages go on sale? When Disney initially releases 2019 packages, these will be at the non-discounted or “rack rate.” The same goes for the Room Only reservations. Disney doesn’t usually release discounts until closer to your actual departure dates. However, with flexible booking policies (contact me to find out more), guests do have the ability to nab a discount even after you’ve booked so you will still be able to take advantage of savings if booking early.
