If you can’t tell from the above picture, we are BIG Star Wars fans (well, except for my father-in-law, he prefers the Raiders – I felt bad cropping him out of the photo)!
With the announcement of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland fans are making vacation plans! While we all patiently wait, you can still meet your favorite Star Wars Characters when you visit Disneyland. The Star Wars Launch Bay located in Tomorrowland in the Disneyland Park is the epicenter of all things Star Wars right now.
Star Wars Launch Bay
You can venture in and see costumes, props, and watch an exclusive documentary on the Star Wars phenomenon. And my favorite thing to do in the Launch Bay is to meet the characters. Right now you can meet and greet with Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, and Rey. When I was there last year we got to meet Boba Fett, the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy.
You can also meet Darth Vader. My kids love to interact with him. He kept trying to convince my son to join the Dark Side! If you have a Disney Visa Card, Darth Vader is part of the exclusive card member meet and greet.
Also, if you’re hanging out outside the Launch Bay you may get to see a few Storm Troopers on patrol!
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
If you need even more Star Wars you can take a ride through the Galaxy on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. This ride was reimagined in 2011 with even more technology! You board your Starspeeder 1000 in this 3D flight simulator!
The Star Trader
Want to take a piece of the Galaxy home with you? Make sure to stop by The Star Trader. An entire store dedicated to Star Wars. Here you can custom build your very own lightsaber, find a voice-controlled BB8, and tons of other merchandise.
Star Wars: Path of the Jedi
But wait, there’s more! You can watch a 10-minute film at the Tomorrowland Theater. Star Wars: Path of the Jedi retells the Star Wars saga with riveting cinematic highlights and hints at what’s to come as the Star Wars story continues with familiar friends, new heroes, and menacing villains.
