While many of us may be in the grasp of a winter chill, springtime is on the horizon, and for us Disney parks fans, there is simply no place better to spend it than at Walt Disney World! True, spring in Flordia seems to be a migration time for Spring Breakers, but Walt Disney World has some fantastic things to offer!
- EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival: Springtime means blooming flowers, warm sunshine, and the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! This annual festival is one of our favorites because not only do we get the amazing topiaries and live music, but the food makes going around the ‘world’ all the more fun. Make sure you don’t miss out on this year’s all-new fantastic lineup! 2023s Flower & Garden starts March 1st and will go until July 5th!
- Cooler Temps: One of the general reasons to head to Walt Disney World is to escape the cold colds of the north but not have to deal with the hot hots that Florida can reach in the summer. Winter can be fraught with avoiding crowds for the holidays, but there is a special sweet spot in the later winter, and early spring where you can avoid most of the busy times! Make sure you check out the many crowd monitors and plan your trip accordingly!
- Opening of TRON Lightcycle / Run: It’s just around the corner! TRON Lightsycle / Run has an official opening on April 4th, 2023. Now, if you are a huge fan, make sure you plan your trip in order to be one of the first on this amazing ride. If you’re not keen on this coaster but want to take advantage of lower crowd times, plan around Magic Kingdom on the 4th – the line will be pretty busy!
- Rumor: Typhoon Lagoon Reopening: Now, this is just an added bonus fact: Typhoon Lagoon has been rumored to reopen this March. If you’re a huge fan of the water park, keep your eyes open for news on its opening so you can get a dip in this spring!
- Airplane Deals: Make sure you check out the fantastic flight deals that are emerging that head to Orlando. Spring tends to be a bit of a quieter time to head to Florida and airlines lower costs that make it pretty irresistible to head to the parks!
- Animal Activity: Animal Kingdom during the summer can be one of the hotter parks to head to. Much like in their natural environments, the hotter it gets, the more napping the animals tend to do. In the winter and spring times, the cooler Flordia temperatures draw the animals out and make them more active during the daytime. If you also head to the parks during holidays, keep an eye out for delightfully themed enrichment as well!
- Opening of Roundup Rodeo BBQ: On March 23rd, Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be opening in Hollywood Studios! The menu looks simply delicious and we can’t wait to try out everything from the meat platter (which has ribs, brisket, sausage, and BBQ chicken) to the Cupcake à la Forky! So excited to have more themed dining in Hollywood Studios!
