Disney World’s Blizzard Beach water park welcomed back guests yesterday and is officially back open! We are so excited to now have a water park to add to our options when visiting Disney World, and just in time for spring! If you’ve never spent a day at this fun and unique water park, definitely make time for it on your next Disney vacation. Here is what makes it so special-
The Fun and Unique Themeing- A ski chairlift at a water park? The illusion of ski jumps and snow? That right, Blizzard Beach is themed to look like a ski resort! I know I’d much rather be at this type of ski resort than the one with actual snow. Many may not know this, but the chairlift at Blizzard Beach was actually the first one to ever be built in Florida! The chairlift also serves a purpose and brings guests up to access the top of Mount Gushmore.
The Amazing Attractions- Blizzard Beach is home to some of the best water park attractions in the country! The park features Summit Plummet, a 120-foot-tall water slide that has a huge verticle drop. The slide takes guests up to 65 miles per hour while traveling down the slide! Summit Plummet is actually one of the fastest attractions at Disney World! The park also boasts one of the longest lazy rivers in the world- Cross Country Creek. This lazy river can take anywhere from 20 to 30 min to complete and is perfect for relaxing and cooling off. Blizzard Beach is also home to one of the world’s largest whitewater raft rides, Teamboat Springs.
A Full Service Bar with Fun Themed Cocktails and Delicious Snacks- How amazing and refreshing does this Blue Blizzard Maragrita look? Visit The Polar Pub for one of these or anything from the full service bar. Hungry? visit Frostbite Freddy’s Frozen Freshments for all of your favorite snacks!
It’s Easy to get to!- Just like Disney Springs and the theme parks, Disney resort hotels offer complimentary bus service to and from Blizzard Beach!
Blizzard Beach has so much to offer and we are so happy it is back open!
