I know about Rotational Dining, but, if my family isn’t feeling it that night, are there other options for places to eat dinner and throughout the day?
One of the great things about the Disney Cruise Line is OPTIONS! Just like you have grown to know and love at the Disney Parks, the Disney Cruise Line offers many options to fit whatever hunger you and your family have. If you aren’t feeling like eating dinner in one of the dining rooms as part of your Rotational Dining, then I would recommend checking out Cabanas (on the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic) or Beach Blanket Buffet (on the Disney Wonder) for a casual dining experience. At dinner, Best of all, you don’t even need to make a reservation! So you can go when it suits you. These locations are also open for a buffet-style breakfast and lunch.
Another great option on the Disney Cruise Line is Room Service. This awesome feature is included with your fare…so if you want a lazy morning enjoying the passing sea, an afternoon treat or a midnight snack, you can rest easy knowing your cravings will be satisfied. This works out really well if you have a little one napping…everyone stays happy then!
While at Disney’s Castaway Cay, you do not want to miss the delicious all-you-care-to-eat BBQ offered in three different areas of the island. From Cajun mahi mani to ribeye steaks and chicken, you will enjoy a taste of the islands while basking in the warm sunshine. And speaking of ports, exploring is a great way to try local cuisine. I would recommend doing a little research or asking around- the YMBADA Cruisers Facebook Page is a great place to get suggestions on local places to chow down. And, there are many Port Adventures that include lunch so you can immerse yourself into the culture 100%.
Finally, there are themed family buffets on the ships on special nights, like the Pirates IN the Caribbean deck part and the midday BBQ on Alaskan sailings featuring wild alaskan salmon and many other seafood dishes.
The bottom line is that you will not go hungry onboard a Disney Cruise! The hardest part will be trying to fit all of these amazing options into your itinerary! I would love to help you find the perfect sailing for your family so you can eat your heart out and create many magical memories.
