When is the best time to go to Disney World? Any time! While it’s true you can have a magical time no matter what time of year you go there is a time that will make for an even more perfect trip. And this time is different for everyone.
Value
If you’re looking for the best time to visit for value and the possibility of lighter crowds there are a few times of the year to choose from. September, January and February are what used to be known as the “off season”. On our last trip a Cast Member told is that there isn’t really an off season anymore, but these three months do offer cooler weather, lower resort prices, and the possibility of less crowded parks! The first week of January is also a great opportunity to get great value and to combine your trip with another best – holiday decorations.
Decorations
If you want to see Cinderella Castle aglow, the Streets of America dazzling, or the countries of World Showcase decked with Christmas finery then the Christmas season is the best time for you to visit! Christmas decorations go up in the first week or two of November and come down in January. We were at the World this past January and all of the Christmas decorations were up the while time were there – and we left on January 14th!
If you’re interested in a different kind of decorations – like those for fall, then the Halloween season is the best time for you to visit! The Magic Kingdom is deck out in foliage and pumpkins from September until just after Halloween!
Food
If delectable delights are your thing, then the best time for you to visit is during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Food and drinks are available from 11 countries in World Showcase all year round, but in late September through November new and exciting booths are added so that guests can experience food from even more places around the World! Cooking demonstrations and live music entertain your other senses while you hands and mouth are full of amazing culinary delights.
Gardening
Do you have a green thumb? Do you wish you did? If you’re into Gardening then the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is the best time for you to visit. From the beginning of March to the beginning of May Epcot is in full bloom! Topiaries of Disney characters, gardening demonstrations, seasonal food, and music make spring time at Epcot the perfect time to visit!
School
If you don’t want your kids to miss any school the the summer months or spring break is the best time for you to go! During spring break you can also experience the Flower and Garden Festival!
Run
Do you love to run? Do you want to run through Cinderella Castle or under Spaceship Earth at Epcot?! If so, then the best time for you to visit Disney World is during one of the many runDisney race weekends! There are races for every age group and running ability! All runners receive race shirts and themed medals for finishing. Characters and other entertainment are along the race course in case running through Magical Disney World isn’t enough to keep you pumped up. I can’t wait to run the half marathon!
Celebrate
Any time you’re celebrating is the best time to go to Disney World! When you walk around the parks you’ll see people with various types of celebration buttons! Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary or honeymoon, family reunion, someone’s first visit, or even something like a new job – celebrate at Disney World! And, let everyone know that you’re celebrating by sporting a brand new and free button!
Personally, I think that the BEST time to visit Walt Disney World is during January or February. This time is ideal because the weather is cooler, there are slightly smaller crowds (at least there have been in the past), and it is the value season so resort prices are at the cheapest they’ll be at all year! I love this time of year at Disney World so much that my family and I are off for another trip this February and already have a plan in the works for a trip in January 2017!
