Disney is innovative and ever-changing. It seems as though there is always a new experience or attraction to look forward to. While some of the newest attractions receive all the attention, there are some classics that we shouldn’t forget about. These iconic classic attractions have withstood the test of time and shouldn’t be forgotten about.

Dumbo- Perhaps the most iconic Disney ride of all time is Dumbo. Don’t just fly, soar way up high on the back of the famous flying elephant. This attraction is found in Fantasyland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Dumbo is definitely a nostalgic fan favorite.

Space Mountain- This ride really paved the way for all thrill rides at Disney. This attraction is so popular that it has been replicated over and over at other Disney parks. Space Mountain has remained popular throughout the years and still sometimes boasts long wait times. Space Mountain is located in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

A Brief History of the Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion- The Haunted Mansion is nothing short of a cult classic. It is very popular and has an extreme following. Haunted Mansion fans are die-hard, I know because I happen to be one of them! I am always amazed that the attraction has been around for so long! This ride is an absolute must-do for me every trip! This attraction or some version of it is also found at multiple Disney parks.

Pirates of the Caribbean- This attraction is extra special, as it was the last attraction that Walt Disney personally oversaw. This attraction also has a huge fan base and is so popular that an entire movie series was based on it! For me, it’s the signature ‘pirate’s water’ smell that makes me want to ride this attraction over and over.

It’s a Small World- This attraction has a theme song just as popular and nostalgic as the ride itself! did you even visit Disney if you didn’t experience It’s a Small World? This classic attraction was actually created for the 1964 World’s Fair. This attraction has become so iconic that all 5 worldwide Disney locations have a version.

attractions worth the wait

Peter Pan’s Flight- This classic attraction remains quite popular. It is not uncommon to see Peter Pan’s Flight with a hefty standby line. Guests fly above scenes from this famous Disney classic during this dark ride. This attraction was actually operational on Disneyland’s opening day in 1955! Now it can be found at 5 different Disney parks!

The Jungle Cruise- This attraction is another fan favorite. This attraction is known for the antics and jokes of the skipper more so than the thrill of the actual attraction. The attraction even changes to ‘The Jingle Cruise’ during the holidays and has a slight holiday overlay. Fans of this attraction even have most of the lines and jokes memorized.

New Halloween Party

Mad Tea Party- Another cionic Disney staple, the Mad Tea Party spinning tea cups. While a very simple attraction, it remains a classic.

The Carousel of Progress- This classic audio-animatronics show was also imagined for the 1964 World’s Fair but named “Progressland”. This is another attraction with a very catchy theme song that has stood the test of time. Today, The Carousel of Progress can be found in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Mr. Toad‘s Wild Ride- This classic attraction is another that was fully operational on Disneyland’s opening day in 1955. We saw this attraction come to Walt Disney World Resort in 1971. Sadly, this attraction was removed from Disney World in 1998 and replaced with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh but remains in Disneyland.
