There’s no denying that 2021 was a year full of exciting and new things at Disney World! With the beginning of the long-awaited 50th-anniversary celebrations, EPCOT’s Space 220 Restaurant, and the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction, it’s been a pretty exciting year! Well, 2022 is looking like it’s going to have its share of new and exciting things too! Here are 5 new things coming to Disney in the new year!
One of the coolest new things coming next year is the new, advanced MagicBands called MagicBand+! These MagicBands are interactive and offer way more than the ones we are all accustomed to. The new MagicBand+ will feature flashing lights, allow guests to interact with 50th-anniversary statues, and even synch to fireworks displays!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Perhaps one of the most exciting new things coming in 2022 is this new thrilling attraction coming to Disney’s EPCOT park. This attraction will be a family-friendly roller coaster with ride vehicles that actually rotate 360 degrees! It will also be one of the largest indoor roller coasters in the world! It’s about time another thrill ride was added to EPCOT!
Amazon and Disney will be partnering to provide complimentary Amazon Echo devices to Disney World hotel guests in 2022. These devices will have a special “Hey Disney!” voice assistant feature that can help guests set alarms, timers, check the weather, and more! The devices will be optional and will have special Disney character voices to choose from.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
One of the most highly anticipated new things coming to Disney is without a doubt the debut voyage of the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser fully immersive hotel experience. While this is more of an experience than a hotel stay, it comes with a pretty big price tag. This all-inclusive interactive experience opens to guests on March 1, 2022!
The End of Disney’s Magical Express
Ok, so this is definitely NOT something many of us are looking forward to, but it’s coming. On January 1, 2022, Disney’s Magical Express complimentary shuttle service will be replaced by Mears Connect, which will be a paid transportation service from the airport to Disney Resort hotels. Pricing is already available for this service and reservations are being booked.
Hopefully, Disney will soon release dates of even more exciting new things coming in 2022! Do you plan on visiting Disney World in 2022? There’s so much to look forward to!
