We all know that spending time at all 4 Disney World theme parks is likely going to be the main activity on a Disney vacation. But what about all of the other really fun activities you can do outside of the parks? There really is so much to do and see at Walt Disney World Resort, and you don’t always have to be inside one of the parks to have a magical time. Here are 5 of my favorite non-park activities!
Horseback Riding & Carraige Rides at Tri-Circle-D Ranch
One fun and unique activity is to head on over to Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground for a pony or trail ride at Tri-Circle-D Ranch. Horseback trail riding is available for $55 and lasts 45 minutes. Pony rides are geared toward younger children and are only $8. Celebrate your inner cowboy or cowgirl with a fun ride on an equine friend!
Bowling at Splitsville at Disney Springs
Nothing beats dinner and bowling with your family at Disney World! Splitsville is the perfect spot to bowl a few games and have a great meal. It is a fun way to spend an evening at Disney. Just keep in mind that dining and bowling are booked separately and plan accordingly!
Shopping
One of my favorite activities to do at Disney both in and out of the parks is shopping! Disney Springs has tons of shopping options including the famous World of Disney store. There are also multiple outlet malls very close to Disney World with large varieties of shops to choose from.
Relax by Your Resort Pool
All of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels have spectacular pools! Nothing beats taking a day off of running around the theme parks and relaxing by the pool. Many of the pools even have outdoor lounges and restaurants nearby too! your feet will thank you for taking a rest day, and the pool feels great on a hot Florids day!
Make a Dining Reservation at a Different Resort
Ever want to check out a bucket list resort you’ve never stayed at? You can! Just book a dining reservation and you can explore any resort you’d like! Resort hopping was one of my favorite activities, but due to COVID and capacity restrictions, Disney has not been allowing this unless a dining reservation is booked. At resorts such as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, there is so much to explore!
There are so many non-park activities to keep your family busy at Disney World! One thing is certain, there is no shortage of things to do and experience!
