For many of us visiting Disney World this Holiday Season, just as important as enjoying all the rides, attractions and special seasonal offerings is being able to capture and share those magical moments with friends and family who can’t be with you. That’s why we thought we’d share with you five of Disney World’s most Instagrammable holiday moments. So check them out and be sure to have your smartphones at the ready!
Santa Claus at Disney Springs: For those heading to Disney Springs for some last minute Christmas shopping, be sure to stop by Santa’s Chalet to have your picture taken with this right jolly old elf. The quaint North Pole setting is the perfect place to snap a picture with Santa. You’ll find him greeting visitors at Disney Springs from 12:00pm – 10:00pm each day. Santa is pretty popular so expect lengthy waits. However, Disney Springs have cleverly implemented a buzzer system. When you check in they’ll hand you a beeper. You can go about your Christmas shopping and come back when Santa is ready to meet you!
Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – With the new holiday projections happening down Sunset Boulevard and onto the Tower of Terror, this popular street is the perfect holiday backdrop. Lit up with thousands of dazzling lights, animated billboards and other vintage Hollywood-style trimmings Sunset Boulevard is the ideal location for Festive Snaps. Add the hastag #FlurryofFun to your posts and join the crowd celebrating Christmas Disney-style.
Cinderella Castle- Magic Kingdom – This is the quintessential holiday shot with Cinderella Castle transformed into a dazzling ice palace. Test your photography skills by capturing one of these amazing shots for yourself. Or for those with a Memory Maker package, ask one of Disney’s PhotoPass photographers to capture the moment and infuse it with a bit of Disney magic with one of their festive (and possibly even animated) Magic Shots. You can find out more about seasonal PhotoPass offerings by checking out this article.
Wilderness Lodge – There is no resort on Disney property better suited for the Christmas Season than the rustic and majestic Wilderness Lodge. Just a short boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom, this stunning deluxe property is the coziest spot we can think of to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and warm your feet by the fire. The giant fireplace or towering Christmas tree both make the perfect Instagram backdrops. For those preferring the down-home charm of the great outdoors, head over to Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to see all the properties light up in the Christmas splendor or to capture some amazing shots of carolers arriving by hay wagon. Check out this article for other great resorts to visit during the holidays.
Festival of the Holidays – Epcot – Each year Epcot’s World Showcase pulls out all the holiday stops by launching an around-the-world holiday celebration. One of our favorite things about a visit to Epcot during the International Festival of the Holidays is trying out a few of the delicious holiday cocktails designed to put a swing in your step. Disney Parks Blog shared this fantastic shot of the Horchata Margarita on offer over at the Las Posadas holiday kitchen. With over 15 festive food booths, be on the lookout for special treats that are not only festive and delicious but also Instagram worthy.
