6 Strategies to Help You Plan Your Perfect Disneyland Getaway 1

If you’re considering a first-time visit to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park, knowing where to start and how to start planning can be half the battle.  Luckily for those considering a visit to the West Coast Mouse, there are some helpful tools and strategies that will help you cobble together the perfect visit to the theme parks.  To help you get started, here 6 of our favorite tips and resources.

1.Be sure to download the Disneyland App – For those heading to Disneyland for the first time, the official Disneyland App is a pretty helpful resource.  The app will provide you with park maps, attraction wait times, entertainment guides as well as allow you to manage your FastPasses and photo downloads (for those that have purchased the MaxPass add-on.)  You can also purchase tickets using the app, find out where to meet your favorite characters and keep up to speed on theme park hours.  The app can be downloaded here.

2. Visit and subscribe to Disneyland’s YouTube channel – To get a taste of the adventure that awaits, we recommend getting familiar with Disneyland’s YouTube channel which is a fun and valuable resource.  You’ll find a library of informative videos covering everything from rides to resorts to places to grab some fantastic grub.  Also, make your Disneyland planning a family affair but explore this channel with your family.  It’s a great way to get the whole gang excited. 3. Make getting to and from the airport a breeze with Disneyland Express – For those flying into LAX or John Wayne Airport, Disneyland Express, takes all the stress out of trying to get from the airports to you Disneyland Hotel.  Providing transfers to Disneyland’s three onsite resorts as well as Anaheim area hotels, getting to Disney couldn’t be any easier.  For more information on the service as well as other Disneyland transportation options check out this article.

4. Make those dining reservations early – Disneyland Resort is jam-packed with incredible eateries.  However, getting a table on the day at some of the more popular locations can prove tricky.  To make sure you’re making the most of your meals,  Disneyland allows guests to book dining reservations for many of the table service eateries (including character dining) up to 60 days in advance.  Reservations can be made by calling 714.781.DINE.

5. Stay in the loop – There are many ways you can stay up to date with the latest Disneyland news and updates.  Our sister site Chip and Co. is a fantastic resource covering everything from special events, new merchandise, the latest menus as well as park hours and refurbishments.  We here at Disney Addicts share the latest Disneyland tips and tricks to help you plan your perfect vacation and Disney Parks Blog is also a terrific go-to-resource for the latest in what’s happening at the parks.

6. Make Disneyland’s In-Park social media a go-to resource – When visiting the parks, I recommend following @DisneylandToday on Twitter for information about Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the resort hotels with live updates. They team is also really great when it comes to answering any questions you may have while at the parks.

These are just a few of the ways that you can prepare for and enhance your visit to Disneyland.  Keep following along with Disney Addicts for even more Disneyland tips and tricks!
