With those Anaheim temperatures heating up, it’s important to find ways to stay cool during your Disneyland visit.  Though you can really work up a sweat making your way from attraction to attraction there are a handful of fun activities that provide a bit of a reprieve from the afternoon sun.  Check out a few of our favorites:

1. Get Soaked –  When the temperatures start to get the best of you, grab a MaxPass for Splash Mountain.  On a warm day, there’s nothing quite like cooling off on a water attraction like Splash Mountain in Disneyland’s Critter Country.  Another of our favorites is Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure park.

2. Taking in a Show- One of the best ways to get a bit of shade at Disneyland resort is to take in one of the amazing stage shows on offer.  Our favorites include Mickey and the Magical Map (pictured above) at Disneyland Park as well as the “Disney Junior Dance Party!” and “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” both at Disney California Adventure.

3. Mingle With Some Cool Characters –  Indoor character meet and greets are another great way to get into the air conditioning and still have a wonderful time.  Choose between the Empire or the Rebellion as you line up to meet characters like Rey and Kylo Ren at Disneyland. Princess fans can meet Anna & Elsa at Disney California Adventure Park.  There are many more characters available to meet at the parks so be sure to pick up an entertainment guide when you arrive.

4. Have a Shady Adventure – Set sail for the Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.  This area of Disneyland Park is perfect for a shady exploration. Walk under a canopy of trees or pop into one of the mysterious caves on the island for a cool alternative to pounding the pavement on the mainland!

5. Hitch a Ride – Hop on board one of Disneyland’s fun transportation links like Red Car Trolley, Main Street Vehicles, Disneyland Railroad or of course the Disneyland Monorail.  Not only are these options are a great way to rest your feet but also offer some unique views of the Disneyland Resort.

6. Head Under the Sea – If you’re a fan of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” then get ready to dive into the big blue world on this California Adventure attraction. The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea is a whimsical way to cool off.  Another fantastic alternative is Turtle Talk with crush where you’ll get to meet some of your favorite Finding Nemo friends.

7. Head to the Lanes – Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks by paying a visit to Splitsville Luxury Lanes at the Downtown Disney District.  This 40,000 square ft. eatery serves up delicious food and is the perfect place to bowl a game or two!
