Today is National Dance Day and we here at Disney Addicts thought what better way to celebrate than by sharing with you some of our favorite Walt Disney World dance parties.  Each of the special soirees on our list are designed to provide visitors with a toe-tapping good time.  However, some are only available for a limited time.  So shake your tailfeather over to Walt Disney World, bring your dancing shoes and take some time out from the rides to have a boogie!

1. Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party – Magic Kingdom  – We dare you to try to stop yourself from dancing to the beat of this street party! Favorite Disney characters like Genie, Mickey and Minnie, Woody and Jessie, and Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps ride alongside giant gift boxes as they circle Cinderella Castle. Best of all, guests are welcome to join in on the fun! You’re invited to snap photos on your smartphone and post them along with the tag #MoveitShakeitPics. You might just spot your picture on one of the float’s video screens! Check the Magic Kingdom time guides as street party times vary.

2. The Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! – Hollywood Studios – Fan’s of the Guardians of the Galaxy films won’t want to miss this fun concert series that runs until August 19th.  Join Star-Lord and Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy who will take guests on an all-singing, all-dancing journey through the cosmos.  Performances take place five awesome times throughout the day and are held at the American Gardens theatre in the World Showcase.  This event is only around for a limited time as part of Walt Disney world’s Incredible Summer lineup so don’t miss your chance to take part in the intergalactic fun!

3. Donald’s Dino-Bash – Animal Kingdom – Fans of Donald Duck will want to head over to Dinoland U.S.A for this fun-filled event featuring dancing and dinosaurs!  Donald Duck is celebrating his recent discovery that ducks are descendants of dinosaurs.  Feathered friends Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad McQuack will also be on hand to meet guests.  As part of the fun, Donald will throw a nightly dance party where visitors young and old have a boogie.  Visitors are encouraged to consult the Times Guide when arriving at Animal Kingdom for further details on this happening new offering!

4. Super Party Time- Incredible Tomorrowland Expo – Magic Kingdom – Until September 3rd,  visitors to Tomorrowland will have the “Incredible” opportunity to meet Mr. Incredible, Frozone, Mrs. Incredible and Edna Mode!  Throughout this area of the park, you’ll be immersed in the world of The Incredibles with themed decor, sound effects and music.  The festivities will include interactive dances and special entertainment. Families can get your groove on during “Super Party Time”, a continuous dance part and show taking place at the Rockettower Plaza stage. Consult the Magic Kingdom Times Guide when you arrive at the park for an up-to-date schedule.

5. Discovery Island Carnivale – Animal Kingdom – This nighly celebration inspired by Carnivale celebrations around the world is simply not to be missed! The festivities kick off with the distinctive sounds of Latin & World-beat rhythms culminating in a visit from Jose and Panchito from the Three Caballeros.  The Viva Gaia Stree Band! will entice you to dance the night away with their cheerful music and performers don beautiful costumes inspired by the living creatures of the land, air and sea. It’s a free-spirited dance party that needs to be experienced to be believed. Be prepared to clap your hands, dance and laugh as the sun sets over the Animal Kingdom.

6. Burudika –  You’ll find these amazing performers in the Haramabe Marketplace area of Africa every half hour from 3:30 – 7:30 (summer hours may vary) where they will win you over with their renditions of sing-along Afro-pop classics like “You Can Call Me Al”, “Iko Iko” and so much more.  They’ll even guide you through some African style dance moves.“Burudika” is Swahili for “to be refreshed” and that’s definitely how you’ll feel after this colorful street party.

7. Disney H2O Glow Nights – Typhoon Lagoon – After the sun goes down, the party kicks off on these specially themed nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.  Guests can make waves with Rex, Buzz, Woody, Jessie and more during this luminous event offering fun for the whole family.  Take the plunge on some of your favorite attractions, enjoy special treats created by Disney’s culinary team just for this event and dance the night away at the DJ-hosted dance party on the sandy beaches of Surf Pool.  The party takes place from 8pm – 11pm on Thursday and Saturday nights until August 11, 2018.  The cost to attend is $55 per person (plus tax) per adult and $50 per person for children between the agest of 3-9.  Tickets can be purchased online at disneyworld.com.

8. Disney Junior Dance Party – Opening Fall 2018 – Hollywood Studios – One of the highlights at Disney World this fall is definitely going to be this new dance party offered at Hollywood studios.  Kids can show of their moves, catch bubbles and party with some favorite Disney friends including Vampirina, Mickey , Doc McStuffins, Timon and more. A DJ will be on hand to get the celebration started playing songs from the Disney Junior shows that you know in love.   You won’t want to miss this party packed with interactive fun and surprises for kids of all ages!
