Dress Code

For guests cruising with Disney for the first time, a question that frequently crops up is what the dress code is like at the various evening meals and whether guests should be prepared to pack more formal attire.   The answer to this question is that it largely depends on the length of the cruise as different itineraries will offer different dining options.  Here’s a quick rundown:

3-Night Cruises- These cruises will typically offer one casual night.  However, swimwear or tank tops are not allowed.  There is also a pirate-themed night and deck party as well as an optional dress-up night.  During the dress up night the recommend attire is a jacket for men and a dress or pantsuit for women.

4-Night Cruises – For these itineraries, the first night is cruise casual (no swimsuits or tank tops), a pirate night with themed deck party, and optional dress up night (recommended attire is a jacket for men and dress or pantsuit for women) as well as an additional cruise casual night.

7-Night Cruises – The first night on these one-week sailings is cruise casual (no swimwear or tank tops). There’s also a pirate night (or other themed parties), 3 additional cruise casual nights, one formal night and one semi-formal night.  However, both are formal nights are optional.

Palo & Remy – In addition to the rotational dining restaurants, the Disney Cruise Line fleet also offers two adults only restaurants – Palo and Remy. Dining at either of these restaurants are not included in the cost of the cruise, but make for an extra special evening at sea for those looking to splurge.

Palo, which is located on all four ships offers brunch and dinner with an emphasis on Northern Italian Cuisine.  Guests opting for this experience are asked to adhere to a dress code. It is recommended that men wear dress pants or slacks, and a shirt with a collar.  Jackets are optional.  Women are advised to wear a dress, or pants/skirt with a blouse.  Jeans are permissible at Palo but they must not be torn.

Remy can be found aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy and offers French cuisine.  The atmosphere at Remy tends to be a bit more formal than Palo and does enforce a strict dress code.

Durning dinner at Remy, men are required to wear a jacket (sport, suit or tuxedo) with dress pants, slacks and shoes. Ties are optional. Jeans, shorts, sandals, sneakers and flip-flops are not allowed. For women the dress code is cocktail dresses, evening dresses pant suits or a skirt with a blouse.  Jeans, shorts, capri pants, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes are not permitted.

For brunch and dessert, the attire at Remy is slightly less formal.  Men are asked to wear dress pants and a shirt. A jacket is optional.  Jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops and tennis shoes are not permitted.  Women are asked to wear a dress or pantsuit.  Jeans, shorts, capri pants, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes are not allowed.
