For those staying on site at a Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll wait to stop by the front desk to pick up a resort activity schedule. Most of Disney’s properties are choc-a-bloc with extra activities. From pool parties to cookie decorating classes, there is bound to be something for everyone. One event that really wins over guests is Disney’s magical Movies Under the Star offerings. During Movies Under the Stars, the resorts will erect giant movie screens in one of the resorts gardens or other common area and will play an amazing rotation of much loved Disney films.
At the moment, each of Disney’s amazing resorts have Movies Under the Stars running in some capacity. For some properties, it is a nightly offering and for others something that runs on select evenings. To help you plan out your days, here is a quick rundown of when you should be able to take advantage of this fun onsite perk. So grab your blankets, pick up some popcorn and enjoy!
Disney’s All Star Movies Resort – Performances run nightly starting at 6:30 at the Reel Spot.
Disney’s All Star Music Resort – Movies run Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting at 6:30pm by the Calypso Feature Pool.
Disney’s All Star Sports Resort – Movies run on Sundays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30pm on the Touchdown! Football Field. If bad weather, movies are moved inside to End Zone Food Court.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House – Movies are run in the Sunset Lounge (inside the resort) nightly at 8:30pm.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidania Village – Movies take place indoors at the Palace Library (also indoors) starting at 8:00pm.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Movies are screened 7-days a week starting at 5:45 on the green near Building 5. If bad weather, the movies move indoors to the resort airline check-in room.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn & Villas – Movies are offered nightly at 7:00pm. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays they are offered indoors in the Community Hall. On Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays you’ll find screenings on the Village Green.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – Movies run on Mondays – Thursdays on the lawn on Caribbean Cay Island. They start at 7:00 pm.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort & Bay Lake Tower – Movies run on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the courtyard behind the Contemporary Tower.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Movies start at 8:30 pm at the Lost City of Cibola pool and run seven days a week.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Movies run on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting at 7:30 pm.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – Movies are offered nightly immediately following the Chip ‘n’ Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long which usually ends around 7:4o pm in the same location as the Campfire. A refreshment stand and restrooms are nearby.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort – The movies run nightly at 7:30 pm on the Sandcastle Pool Deck
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Movies only run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays on the Great Ceremonial House Lawn starting at 7:30 pm.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort – Movies are held starting at 6:00 pm nightly near the Hippy Dippy Pool Deck. In bad weather screenings, are moved inside to children’s playroom near the lobby front desk.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter – The movies take place on Mondays, and Sundays at 7:00 pm between Buildings 5 & 6.
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside – Movies Under the Stars take place at 7:00 pm seven days a week in Oak Manor Courtyard (near building 90).
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa – Movies take place every day except for Fridays. On Sundays, Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays you’ll find them at the Disney Vacation Club Courtyard. On Mondays and Wednesdays, Movies are at the Community Hall. Screenings start at 7:00 pm.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge & Villas – Movies take place at 8:00 pm, 7-days a week in front of Teton Boat & Bike Rentals.
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort – Movies take place nightly. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays the screenings happen on the beach. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays you’ll find it in the Solarium.
Movies vary nightly and guests can enjoy everything from Star Wars releases to much loved Pixar films as well as Disney classics. Guests should note that schedules are seasonal. The times above are for January 2018 and these may change slightly throughout the year. Visitors should consult the Front Desk to confirm times as well as to receive a list of films being screen during your stay.
