Don't Let the Rainy Days Dampen Your Holiday Spirit at Disneyland

Rain, rain, you can stay, Southern California needs some rain today!  We won’t let the rainy days dampen your holiday spirit at Disneyland, though!  Instead, we are here to tell you all the ways you can still add that extra sparkle of magic during your holiday trip which will make you forget it is raining at all!

First and foremost!  Be sure to prepare for seasonal weather!  I know we say this all the time, so this one shouldn’t really come as a shock to you, but just in case you are new to visiting the Disney parks, you should always bring weatherproof clothing.   It’s a good idea to wear comfortable, warm clothing and water-resistant shoes. Sometimes we even pack extra articles of clothing in our backpacks for an emergency!

Of course, if you forget anything, most merchandise locations offer ponchos and umbrellas, as well as comfy sweatshirts, sweaters and spirit jerseys themed to the season!  Which brings us to our next item on the agenda, go holiday shopping! The Disneyland Resort is the perfect place to shop for everyone on your list! The Emporium in Disneyland park offers a little bit of everything!  I often get lost in this store, you can honestly spend hours in here as you wait for the rain to subside.  Plus, Disney Home in the Downtown Disney District offers character-inspired home décor, kitchenware, bedding, holiday pet items and more, for the rest of the gifts left on your list!  Happy Shopping!

If it’s raining you can still experience attractions!  Some of our favorite indoor attractions are still open during rainy days and these are sure to not dampen your holiday spirit at Disneyland.  Your first stop should be to the festively transformed “It’s A Small World”!  The transformation this attraction goes through for the holiday is absolutely amazing! Next head to the Haunted Mansion Holiday in the Disneyland Parks.

While you are enjoying the holiday decorations around Disneyland because let’s face it the rain really brings out the lights at night, be sure to stop for some festive holiday foods!  As part of the Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure park, enjoy the Festival Foods Marketplaces featuring a variety of delicious destinations with plenty of seasonal food and beverages.  Guest love the Warm Peppermint Chocolate Float at Winter Sliderland Marketplace, which will keep you toasty while walking around the rainy parks. To add some extra spirit of magic, pair it with the Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron from the Making Spirits Bright Marketplace.
