For awhile I was on the fence on whether or not I wanted to make breakfast reservations at WDW while on vacation, I mean, I am ON vacation! Why would I want to get up early? Well, silly me didn’t realize that even though I am on vacation I still want to get up early to get to the parks at a decent time. Then I discovered a perk of getting that early morning breakfast reservation, the ability to possibly hop right on some of my favorite rides without having to wait too long in line.
Although it is difficult to judge when the parks will open now, seeing as they are changing all the time, I’m looking at you Galaxy’s Edge, you will still want to make your breakfast reservation for the earliest possible time available. Typically the earliest you can get a reservation is 8:00 am, which can be before the park opens! This is what I want!
If you end up with a reservation before the park opens, be sure to show up by 7:15-7:30 to get into the breakfast reservation line and enter the park as soon as they allow. *Pro Tip: If you have a reservation that is a little later than 8:00 am but still before the park opens, make sure you still show up by 7:30 am and see if you can get seated earlier, it may not work, but it won’t hurt to try in order to get to those rides faster!
Best Restaurants to get an Early Morning Breakfast Reservation at WDW
Pro Tip: All of the Breakfast locations mentioned below, with the exception of Be Our Guest, are considered fixed-priced meals, which means to maximize your time ask for your check shortly after you are seated. Be Our Guest is considered a Quick-Service location for breakfast allowing you to order and pay ahead of time through the My Disney Experience app.
Magic Kingdom
Currently, the breakfast reservations at this park are the most popular for several reasons. The current park opening procedure allows guests entering the park to proceed all the way to The Hub in front of the castle. Guests with early reservations will be able to go beyond that for their breakfast reservations by following the cast member holding the breakfast reservation sign in The Hub area telling you where to go. However, one of my favorite reasons to get an early park breakfast is because those with breakfast reservations who are let into the park before the rest of the guests basically have Main Street to themselves. What does that mean exactly?! For those of you who are picture lovers have a high chance of getting those perfect castle shots without a crowded background! Downfall, while you are at breakfast you miss the opening ceremony show on the stage.
Our number 1 option for a pre-park opening breakfast reservation at WDW at the Magic Kingdom is Be Our Guest! This is the first choice for us because it is the least expensive and quickest option! However, this is also our first choice solely for the reason that guests who are finished eating before the park opens are often allowed to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! This is huge as this is an incredibly popular ride and Fastpasses can be hard to get!
Our second choice is Cinderella’s Royal Table. However, it is important to note, this restaurant takes much longer to enjoy as it is a character experience. One perk, in my opinion, you might get a chance to see characters as they make their way to the opening ceremony show. Downfall, you can’t take pictures or get signatures and you will also miss the opening ceremony, but you can head straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine train. So many pros and cons, you just have to weigh out what each option means to you and your family.
Lastly, our third choice is The Crystal Palace. We added this restaurant, however, once you are done eating you won’t be able to explore the rides because by then the rest of the guests will have been let into the park, but you will be able to get a great viewing spot for the opening ceremony!
EPCOT
Our first choice in Epcot is Garden Grill. Not only is this a character meal, but guests who are finished by about 8:40 can also hop onto Soarin’ before the park opens! We absolutely love this restaurant, for us, it is a hidden gem.
Our second choice is the Akershus Princess breakfast. We have a princess in our family and this was a wonderful experience!! Plus, this restaurant is located right next to Frozen Ever After, and many people have been able to board before the park opens.
Hollywood Studios
Our only choice in Hollywood Studios is Hollywood & Vine, Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine. If you have young ones in your life, this is the perfect place for breakfast. Plus, once you are finished eating you are close to the sign-up location for the Jedi Training at Hollywood Studios. This can be very competitive and requires being at Hollywood Studios early, but people with pre-park opening breakfast reservations often get to do it before they eat and before the crowds arrive.
Animal Kingdom
Tusker House is located in the Africa section close to Safaris, which means once guests are finished they can head straight to the Safaris before the park opens and save their Fastpasses for Pandora.
